De Aza is a fringe AAA/MLB player, hell no he isn't an MLB leadoff hitter.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 03:44 AM) f***in jesus. Look, I've said for years that I've thought Floyd is a better fighter than Manny and I also love Pac and despise Mayweather to the point where I'd pay a lot of money myself to get my ass kicked by Floyd if I could just take a swipe at him. All that being said, JMM did not control this f***in fight tonight, he was no where near robbed, it was a fun fight where the decision could have went either f***in way. Before I saw the stats, I thought it was a toss up and compubox makes it look like it favored Manny, the fact is, it was a very enjoyable fight that could have went either way. I'm also not ignorant enough to believe that these judges weren't swayed by the possible payday but once again, there's absolutely 0 chance that this was a one sided fight, it legitimately could have went either way. Real, you're a biased motherf***er so your opinion literally means jacks***, and sleepy, I respect the f*** out of you, but you're wrong here, nothing else to say at the moment... why you mad bro, i post 3 youtube videos of pacquiao fans admitting marquez won, and you're all butthurt, just watched the fight for the third time, i had it more lopsided than originally (I had it 115-112 or something, i left my card at my friend's house, we watched it on his 106" 1080p projector setup), but after rewatching it a couple times, I have Marquez winning 117-112 (8-3-1), Pacquiao didn't have a single obvious round that he won convincingly, you'd be surprised at how often he was punching at AIR, Marquez was masterful RD 1: Toss up, gave it to Pacquiao RD 2: Marquez easily wins this round RD 3: Marquez RD 4: Marquez RD 5: Marquez RD 6: Pacquiao, JMM was very inactive this round RD 7: Marquez RD 8: Marquez RD 9: Marquez RD 10: 10/10 Round RD 11: Marquez RD 12: Pacquiao

Marquez won this fight on my card 116-112, twitter is exploding right now, lol even Pacquiao fans on youtube admitting their God was beaten tonight

I expect Kenny to trade Danks for Freddy Garcia, and Aaron Rowand. Then when he realizes they're both on different teams, he's gonna be PISSED.

Per MLB network just now Jed Hoyer (rumored to be) leaving Padres to join Epstein in Cubs FO @_@ edit: this makes the AGon deal look even MORE like tampering/intentionally damaging ones own system

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) Has Thome announced his retirement from baseball as a player? Think that he has to do that first. lol! coworker of mine is close to Jim and his family (I live about 4 miles from Bartonville, Il), he told me about 2 months ago that Jim is retiring and he felt after #600 he had nothing left to prove

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) I bet it would be the opposite. AJ strikes me as the type that would go insane on a losing team and become a horrible person to be around... worse than normal. yeah except Im going off past quotes in 2010

PK would waive his NTC but I doubt very seriously AJ does.

QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 01:29 AM) So you'd rather they wasted all the other potential managers time and their time after they decided they wanted to go this way? Its obvious that they've been planning this or at least hoping for it, for a while, if kenny is telling the truth. So why interview those people? I don't think its an effective use of time. I don't think its fair to interview people for a position that is already filled. Everything else you said was conjecture and not worth responding to (like so much else that has been said in this thread). Martinez and Alomar both stated they weren't interviewed, Alomar even went so far as to say he wasn't contacted at all conjecture? your logic about "wasting their time", that's a ridiculous way of looking at it, and I laugh at a professional sports team that goes into the process of hiring a new mgr with the full mindset on getting a guy less qualified than others available, and thus not even bothering to interview other potential candidates what a joke

QUOTE (Paulstar @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 01:06 AM) My favorite thing about Ventura is that when no one thought he could cut it at 3B, he worked hard and transformed himself into a gold glove third baseman. I really hope he does the same thing as manager for the Sox. I really don't understand the outrage about this hire. Surprising? Yeah, but there were worse moves you could have made. There is no doubt that Ventura knows baseball as well, if not better, than the other candidates. There is no doubt that Ventura is a good person and hard working. The only doubt there is about Ventura is how well he can manage a clubhouse and players. But I feel that Ventura is such a respected and smart player that he might be able to learn quick. Will he succeed or fail? I don't know, but I think he has decent odds. One thing I know for sure though, he will be easy to root for because he is a great person who loves baseball and hopefully won't make a full out of himself and bash the whole fan base when things don't go right. the outrage is that he was hired, without anyone else even given the opportunity of an interview, the outrage is that there were highly praised, better qualified options available and none of them were even an afterthought unless Ventura declined Kenny's offer this was Kenny getting his yes-man, and he couldn't have that with LaRussa, Francona, Martinez, or Alomar. that's all this is, and thus outrage

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) Steve Stone: "Very nice guy and good third baseman. Had wonderful career." and stoney followed that up with "And that's about all I can say." haha, nice praises.

i'd rather have AJ player-manage this team, than Ventura, are you kidding me?

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) Real, I don't like it, but quiet down. fine, but people still need to cut the BS, tired of it

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) And who the f*** are you to say that? How the f*** do you know already how this is going to turn out? the guy was f***ing retired enjoying life, and now he's qualified to be a manager? again, cut the BULLs***
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:20 PM) And I'll say, I really like Robin. I just have zero idea what his qualifications are from a manager perspective and how much he's been involved in the game, etc, since he retired. his qualifications? you know his f***ing qualifications, don't sugar coat what you "know" to make the move seem less volatile, it's a s***ty move, let's be f***ing honest here and cut the bulls***
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) I love, love, love me some Robin Ventura, but talk about coming out of left field... er, third base. if you're a fan of this, you don't know s***, and i'm being as honest as i can be.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 11:33 AM) Look up the word contraceptive in the dictionary and it shows a google street view of greg's house in Lawrence, Kansas. It's all about the players but for some reason the only way the Marlins will win multiple titles is because of their new manager. Unbelievable fixed for accuracy? i kid i kid...... ...

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) He was a no-brainer pick where they selected him. Who should they have taken? i'm not taking sides in this arguement, but i want to comment on the point you're trying to make there are flaws in your comment: sometimes it isn't about "who else should they have picked", ala Gordon Beckham or Chris Sale, it's the fact that once you have said player, it's your job as an organization to get the talent out of said player We haven't gotten that talent out of Beckham, we'll see what we do with Sale, but so far Sale has been a success, albeit as a reliever
-
why spend big dollars on a manager when your plans for the team going forward do not include the phrases 'all in' or 'going for it' Martinez will get paid by Boston and we'll end up with Alomar Jr
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) No one was against signing Adam Dunn. ^
-
AJ can veto a trade, he's 10/5 with the Sox. And Sale will be an Ace mid-year? he'll have a dead arm by august if he's a starter.

enough with the White Sox brotherhood hires, enough is enough of this inhouse/past players bulls***
