Is there a plan, or darts at the  wall again?

I thought the plan was to develop a core of young players and then "go for it".  Apparently not.

this was always the plan, draft and collect high talent prospects while being fun-bad for a while, and then in a few years use that strategy as a way to put yourself into the comfortable financial position to sign guys like harper and other blue chip free agents and international signings

did you think the Sox would turn into the marlins?

Would you really want him? He’s been in pretty solid decline past two seasons. It would be like getting Griffey or Youkilis again.

I'm terrible with trade proposals, just curious what the cost would be or what it would take to get them to pick up some of his salary, or what we would have to include to get them to eat all of it or most of it

    can coop fix him?

Love that Frank is an analyst. Media/kids need to know how great of a player that man was. His stats still blow me away.

Thomas was seriously one of the best ever, I still cant believe how good he was compared to today's players, head and shoulders above most if not all RH hitters in today's game, including trout.  from a purely hitting perspective obviously

^^^ I agree with this. Although 400 million or whatever amount they would sign him for is a ridiculous sum of money, he would be well worth the investment. Jersey sales, ticket packages, concessions, etc would all increase dramatically if they signed him. Not to mention the marketing opportunities.

eh, I'm sure they're already takingall those things into account, those arent separate things that only happen because you paid him 400 million vs 350 million

Sale closes out the 9th to clinch the Series for the Sawx...he deserved to showcase his stuff on the biggest stage, and luckily he did, just not for the team it should've been.  Things ended poorly here for him, but still I can't help but feel good for him winning the WS.  Bring on the off-season!

Things end poorly here for everybody.  Failed organization:)
