QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:27 PM) damn shame we don't have PK Or CQ, but that isn't CQ's fault... guess it was personal/family matter -

Btw, was I the only person to think of Chris Rongey and ROI when Teahen hit that bomb in the 9th? -

That's two homers tonight that keep this team alive Who's the next reliever to give up the Goat? Will they bring in Humber? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:19 PM) Won't happen. Morel's not going down. It will be Beckham being sent down, IMO, if one of the two goes. not a chance Beckham gets sent down instead of Morel, lol -

Crain faced 2 batters too many in that inning. He should've been pulled when he got the 2nd out, but Ozzie didn't have anybody ready yet in the bullpen Beyond that, it's unreal how often the pitchers on this team screw the offense over in extra innings. Every damn time we score runs, the pitchers just give it right back. -

Yankees Montero is looking more and more like a Sox target, if we could acquire him this year it'd make him ready for the bigs after AJ's deal expires next year -

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) who the f*** did AJ think he was for b****ing at Peavy when he can't even throw out a runner with a pitchout. Pathetic. Agreed, and Peavy wasn't even pitching *that* poorly, not a QS but not worthy of being shown up But that's for a different thread -
no faith and no patience in this organization

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) Caulfield - you refuse the directly answer the question I asked, despite doubting that this white sox team was "climbing" on the previous page. To this point, what winning percentage would you have needed to see over the past 43 games to convince you this team was "climbing"? You also claim that Minnesota has done a better job of "climbing"... Does their recent 15-2 stretch mean more to you than the 8-25 they immediately did before that? If so, shouldn't the White Sox most recent stretch of 26-17 mean more to you than the 4-18 they put up previously? The Twins have now lost their last two - does that mean as much to you as the two games the White Sox lost up in Minnesota? There is a serious double standard at work here. Even if the Twins go 19-0 against the White Sox, they have go .500 against everyone else just to win 84 games. Does anyone honestly think they can do either of those things? I know I'm not the only person here (people have already agreed with my posts about this in recent threads) who refuses to get excited or believe in this team, until they can start kicking the s*** out of the Tigers and Twins -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) PED use is a fact for sure. Sad but true. However, I agree that you have to be careful and use common sense on these issues. You had better not start throwing someone's name out there and specualting and even claiming they were PED users. If there isn't proof don't talk about it. Unfortunantely these callers don't have a lot of sense sometimes It wasnt brought up by a caller, though he feels Konerko's performance at this age is suspicious He's the same caller that calls in and bashes the Sox under different names and locations, he's pathetic really Any avid score listeners should know who I'm talking about He was "Jim" today, I've heard him claim to be "Benjamin" before also

There are so many different types of steroids now than can be either masked partially or fully in urine testing, not to mention all the other designer PEDs available that are only detectable via blood like EPO and HGH which require stored blood and retesting to compare samples due to how they work I've done some research on this... because it's rampant in Boxing, which is my favorite sport... But it's not accurate to use the eye test in terms of physique to claim someone is or isnt juicing... It's more accurate to take age and production into consideration, but that isn't enough to make accusations either I don't think Paulie is juicing for the record, and this thread wasnt meant to be some sort of devil's advocate piece either

Updated original post Sorry if people thought I jumped the gun early on this, it wasn't my intention at all. When I tuned in, Spiegal mention paper and Paulie PEDs, sounded like they were talking about an article

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:35 PM) Someone mod me so I can make this ever important change like a responsible person. You may de-mod me seconds later. ORRRRRRRR save us all the time and hassle and just f***ing do it. I am angry now.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) I've heard so many rumors about MLB players being on PEDS the last few years, and not once heard anything about Konerko. Hell, if you see him in person in street clothes, he looks like the opposite of what an athlete should look like. He's someone that's always had a similar swing at the plate, and it's not like he's hitting landmark home runs. If the Chicago media wants someone to bash for PEDS, there's a certain 1B in Chicago who hit 3 home runs in the Sox/Cubs series that is a running joke. The Sox know Konerko's workout routine and health situation better than anyone, and if they thought there was anything fishy, I highly doubt they would have extended his contract again. its pretty obvious Pena was juicing in texas, that organization seems to be a safe haven for drug use, and not just PEDs...

FYI the caller didnt start the discussion, he chimed in with his two cents about an already laid out topic

When I get off work I'll try to find the basis of what brought up this whoke topic on the score, but for christs sake there havebeen much worse threads started here

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) It's amazing how many people are missing the whole point of this just because it was Jake on the mound and not Buehrle. It actually isn't very amazing if you read some of the posts here a lot of the posters here will blindly follow certain players regardless of how indefensible their actions are it's funny, AJ is widely known and accepted around major league baseball as being a jackass, a jerk, and overall toolbag. he shows up a teammate and there are people here defending him because they hate jake peavy. lol, what a joke.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 12:57 AM) This Website is so dysfunctional. The team is asleep all season. AJP wakes it up and many turn on AJ. WTF? I'd describe this team as passionless this season. AJP woke it up! That is awesome. How the f*** do you know if he woke it up? How many games have we played/won since this incident? He showed up his pitcher, period. REFUTE THAT, for christs sake, instead of bringing up other irrelevant s*** that has no basis on the topic of this thread, which is AJ showing up his pitcher. It's this kind of s*** that he's been known to do on just about every team he's been on

QUOTE (Andrew @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 12:28 AM) No it's not. We still have the problem of a p**** pitcher who can't go 6 innings without worrying about muscles falling off his bones, or groins, or whatever, and god forbid - he might have a fit when his catcher calls him out on it when he sucks ass after 5 innings. What's been solved? F. J. P. No, a p**** is what AJ did after Barrett punched him in his fat face: Hide behind Scotty Pods. He's a little b****, and you and everyone in the MLB knows it.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 11:34 PM) Apparently no one in this thread has ever gotten into an argument with a close friend. Do you even know what "Showing up" means? Getting into an arguement with a close friend, and then your friend belittling you on facebook about said arguement for the world to see. That's the equivalent of what AJ did I love all the "AJ is a gamer!!! HE ONLY WINS!!!!!" When was the last time he threw out a f***ing runner, why doesn't he worry about his own game, and let the manager handle the managerial duties.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) Ummm....in what alternative universe can you trade Jake Peavy, Dunn or Rios? in the alternate universe where these sox fans live that believe you can just dump any players contract to any team and the trade just happens by clicking your heels together three times these same fans think you can just eat contracts and release players making 15m a year for the next 4 years lol
