  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 12:03 AM) Real there's no way you trade Floyd as he is only guaranteed starter we have next year. Who knows if Humber blows up rest of the way being the only guaranteed starter means nothing with KW and Uncle Jerry running the show. would not surprise me at all if Buehrle gets signed to a 2-3 year/9-10$ mil deal, Gavin isnt some mythical key holding the rotation together
  2. Viciedo is going to be on this team, and they arent going with a 6man for much longer after Peavy comes back, either Danks or Floyd will be dealt with Teahen, and I'm betting its Gavin...
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:55 PM) No chance Floyd is dealt. I couldnt disagree more, affordable, stuff that any GM would love, has not had a horrible year since becoming a regular starter, but the Sox know who he is: a pitcher who needs coddled and suffers with runners on base, and will never be better than average/slightly above average Sox will bank on Peavy (again) being healthy, and Edwin will finish year in the rotation Gavin could bring back somebody decent even if they have to take Teahen's contract
  4. Viciedo will be our starting LF this year I think, but I think Pierre wont be released... he could have value off the bench (Lillibridge, Vizquel, Pierre isnt a terrible bench), i just think the sox are trying to find a way to get Teahen outta here in a package, I'd assume built around Floyd
  5. It'll be awesome next year because the Sox coaching staff and front office will still have their jobs. They'll simply raise ticket prices, so the lack of attendance won't really affect anything. Just like they did this offseason. In 2017 the tickets will cost about $489 a piece, but there will only be about 75 people at the park
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) Somehow, Jackson will get $7 million from someone. He's like the "nice" Randy Moss who will keep getting fresh chances until he loses his stuff that all those scouts drool over. For sure, mainly because age+prior success+stuff will fool a GM into thinking he's just a tweak away from being dominant Wow what a horrible pitcher
  7. LOL at Edwin 420 Dude is f***ing garbage, we all knew this is what would happen in this game too!
  8. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) Why the hell not? Because he's Ozzies guy? He's washed up and on the last year of his deal. Seems like the perfect opportunity to flat out release him. I don't want him taking up a roster spot. He can go to Charlotte if he wants or he can be released would be the two options I would give him. Because its rare that a team just walks up to their starting leadoff hitter, who has been playing everyday, and says we're letting you go, just out of the blue. If his time with the Sox is coming to an end, we'll know because his playing time will start to decrease, and you'll probably see more Lillibridge They'll dump him to an NL team and pick up most of his salary, instead of flat out dumping him to the waiver wire. Big league teams rarely do that to guys respected by their teammates and coaches. It sets a bad precedent and message to future possible Sox players Rios is an example of this happening, though the circumstances were different
  9. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) How hard is it to get rid of Pierre? You tell him to pack up his s*** and have security escort him out. thats not how it works in the big leagues, the only realistic option we can hope for is Pierre either traded, or we package Teahen in a deal with Edwin or another of our starting pitchers, we bench Pierre for the rest of the year, and Viciedo is our new LF No way in hell this team flat out releases Pierre
  10. Nice, a Sox apologist who f***ing cares how good this team was during the 70's and 80's? you can have your 'perspective', i want my $110-$120 million dollar payroll team in the f***ing playoffs
  11. sucks that this was a groin injury, of all the non-pitching non-serious injuries he could have, this is a f***ing annoying one for sure, i can speak from experience, its something that seemingly never goes away, its even worse for someone like a high profile athlete
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) Yes. What's the link? lol, really? http://twitter.com/#!/ozzieguillen
  13. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/Securit...ins-game-061611 Unf***ingbelievable. Btw, I've listened to Twins radio broadcasts and 30% of their commercials are Jesus Christ related. It's unreal.
  14. wow, Poreda cleared waivers that draft pick=BUST
  15. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) can anyone enlighten me why viciedo is not being called up? is it to do with options or his contract? Sox have stated all along that Viciedo will be called up only to play fulltime Right now we don't have a spot for him He can't play 3rd We have somebody in LF, and RF We already have a DH We already have a 1B
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) It's hard to tell what question he was answering but the answer did involve the phrase "Move somebody up." guess you missed where the sox have stated to certain people they have no intention of bringing up viciedo
  17. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) Ok here comes Interleague ... we will be in 1st place after interleague finsihes. And the Sox will be back in 3rd place in September when we play divisional opponents 4 times a week
  18. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) we'll now be 5.5 GB after today and the people on this site will still think the Sox are "in it", when the reality is the ineptitude of the Sox againsy their own division is exactly why they arent "in it".
  19. Gordon has less than a 1% chance at hitting a fastball unless he cheats
  20. You could make a lot of money betting on the favorite between these two teams, because its such a guarantee the Sox will lose
  21. the talented teams in our division in terms of things like talent, scouting... seem to have really figured out how to approach our hitters its up to our team to adjust to the twins and tigers but we have failed to do so for almost two consecutive years
  22. Was game 163 the last time we shut out the Twins?
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) The Chicago White Sox: home to 10 of the worst players in baseball: Juan Pierre Alex Rios Adam Dunn AJ Beckham Morel Teahen Pena Ohman Harrell as much as it pains me to say it, I wouldnt put AJ or Morel on that list. not yet
