here we go gavin doesn't throw his curveball enough, i'll say that right now, he hasn't thrown it much all year from the starts i've seen him pitch i could be completely wrong but it just seems he throws the curve less and less year after year

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 07:58 PM) Dice-K Matsuzaka, considering he might never pitch again. Hope there's a lot of insurance on that deal. Daisuke isn't making a lot per year, only like 10m I think you're inferring that the money Boston had to pay his Japanese team to discuss a deal for him, was money going to him, which it wasn't ($103m) But yeah, Daisuke is only making like 10m per year and I think next year is his last year before he's a free agent, Figgins and Dunn are much worse deals

Ozzie sounds sincerely like a pissed off resentful motherf***er that we didn't draft Ozney LOL, I love it

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 01:27 PM) His curve was nasty last night. ironically, it was the curve that got him into trouble in the 7th inning (i use the term trouble loosely, as he only gave up baserunners but didn't allow them to score)

Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs "Vicious" Victor Ortiz, September 17th, 2011 at (presumably) the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV Can't wait!!! Most dangerous fighter Floyd has faced in his career (one could argue the first JLC fight, though Floyd had an injured shoulder that night, and rematched+destroyed him in the 2nd fight) Ortiz is a southpaw who some feel has better footwork than even Floyd does, however he is definitely very green (I think he's only 25 or 26) and already has 2 losses on his resume.. Floyd needs to be aggressive in this fight in order for it to appeal to the casual boxing fan, otherwise he will skate to an easy UD ala Andre Ward.. Definitely getting this PPV though

QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) We won the first two, obviously the "B" team will all be starting tonight. two nights in a row?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 06:20 AM) Do you not want to win the division? That's all I care about. Once the playoff starts all bets are off. Seems like you're saying that because it might not take 90 wins that it will mean less. And maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying. Let me clarify I don't think we'll win the division because the Twins give this team fits every year, and even when they're horrible they come into our ballpark and f***ing no-hit us. Detroit is also better than we are, and has no problem beating this team this year (or last year, aren't we 1-11 against them in the last 12 games?) I watch every game, and I refuse to get excited when we beat King Felix, Pineida, Lester, or whatever other Ace we face that isn't in our division, because those wins mean little to nothing when you can't beat the Twins or Tigers, which we didn't do last year and aren't doing this year It wouldn't even surprise me if we leapfrog Cleveland because we've owned them so far this year, but Detroit looks better than them and looks better than us, and Minnesota is still lingering around and is enough of a threat to THIS team that even if they finish last in the Central, could still keep this team from winning the division because they beat our ass every year It will take a massive turn around for me to start believing this team can contend this year, and just looking at W/L isn't enough for me at this point of the year. It'll take a lot more games against our divisional opponents before I'm convinced this team can win the division

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 06:15 AM) I certainly don't think the White Sox are 'cured' and primed to take over the division. But the fact is they've played much better ball the last month and have made up considerable ground. And you talk about how Cleveland is struggling. How else are we supposed to make up ground on them if we're not playing them? lol. The Indians offense and bullpen are legit. No doubt in my mind. When Choo and Santana get going, and they will, they probably have the best offense in the division. But their rotation is beyond suspect. And they've been getting torpedoed of late. 87 wins is mediocre. But we're not in the al east. That could very well be just enough to win this division. I can't argue with anything in this post. But that's the thing, you're not really arguing with anything I've said either. We're mediocre and it looks like Cleveland is coming back to earth, which part of that should get me excited? Can you point it out, because I can't find it
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 06:12 AM) Ok, so now you are going to argue that picking up 4 games in a 14 game stretch is not significant? Again, if such a "mediocre" scenario were to repeat itself until the end of the season, we would be roughly 22 games ahead of the Indians by October. So you're saying if we pass the indians, we're good? 87 wins isn't mediocre to you? Haha ok! Have you been watching this team? I don't think you have.. at least that's the conclusion I'm drawing from your posts
-
Wait, personal attacks are allowed now? Ok. Cleveland started struggling over the last 14 games L, L, L, W, L, L, W, W, L, L, L, L, L, W = 4-10 We're 8-6, in those last 14 games which is 2 games above .500. 8-6, is a .571 Win%, coupled with what our record was at the start of those 14 games (22-27), would put us at 87-75 at the end of the year 87 wins = mediocre qwerty, gmafb child.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 11:33 PM) So nobody should be optimistic about cutting the deficit in half over the last 4 weeks? we've been mediocre going by the W/L record over that time, it's just that Cleveland has been horrible
