  1. yeah the sox won 6-0 or whatever the score was, but the first 4 innings the Sox looked like absolute s***, how many times did they have guys with RBI opportunities who completely s*** themselves? not sold on this game being some preordained 'turned it around' game, win the next 8 and maybe i'll be a believer 6 runs on 17 hits = players pissing themselves in the clutch. white sox baseball.
  2. QUOTE (maggliopipe @ May 7, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) Juuuust a bit of hyperbole? I'm sure there have been more disappointing teams in MLB history. This is a team that was objectively expected to contend, or perhaps slightly favored, to win a weak division. This wasn't an odds-on favorite to win the Series or anything. And for an analysis of this to encompass MLB History, you also have to ignore payroll and focus on the roster (so as to include teams prior to free agency, inflation, etc). Teams with much higher expectations have also s*** the bed. read the first post, i was very specific, i included payroll in determining how much of a disappointment it would be if they lost 95 or more games, you can ALSO include talent
  3. Aww, people are afraid to vote yes, even though it's OBVIOUSLY the right answer. Name a f***ing team with 125+ million payroll that lost 95+ games in a year? Please, name one. Even the Mets didn't lose that many
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:45 PM) I didn't see it so tell me what was the big mistake(s) Ozzie made, other than leaving Thornton in so long? pitching to ..can't remember who it was, with a base open, with olivo on deck, it was a lefty..that i remember, but i dont remember who it was
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:43 PM) DJ, "we're just going to have to play better against those guys (Mariners, Angels and A's) and win some games." Great analysis. The is ZERO insightful analysis during a Sox broadcast, whether it's on 670 or CSN. Horrible horrible broadcasters we have.
  6. Given the payroll, if this team loses that many games, would it arguably be the most disappointing team in Major League history?
  7. QUOTE (bobryansson @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:38 PM) We all knew it. yup! still hurts
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:32 PM) here it comes... don't fight it, just take a deep breath!
  9. walk off is coming this inning, don't fight it, it'll be far less painful if you just know it's coming
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) Didn't realize Thornton had a .341 BAA. How is that even possible? Juan Pierre doesn't explain more than 1/3rd of that. check out the BABIP against Thornton, it's LOL
  11. Mariners gonna walk this one off, you can book that s***!
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 6, 2011 -> 11:05 PM) What is the difference in he and Daniel Hudson? Hudson hasn't been considered a bust yet, Humber was overwhelmingly considered that until this year. Pull up the Humber threads here where people were saying it wasn't a big pickup in the offseason, and that we'll see why he was picked up for practically nothing Also, we didn't draft Humber, he isn't our talent. Which let's be honest, is probably a good thing, as our minor league system would've probably ruined him
  13. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 6, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) I gotta say the Mariners offense is as bad as there is in baseball except for Smoak and Ichiro The White Sox have never heard the phrase do not xyz player beat you. There is no way Humber can be moved from the rotation. I understand why he will but this team needs to grow talent and he is showing he can pitch. you can't use Humber as an example of growing talent
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) New spot? Its his old spot. If they don't want to bench Pierre, its a good place to perhaps get some offense in the line up. Its a shame Morel can't hit. Uh, for all we know Morel can hit, it's just the whole f***ing mental midget plague has taken over the entire roster. Morel isn't the only one not hitting if you haven't noticed
  15. Keep losing! Pleaseee! It's the only chance for changes! Damn you CQ, why do you have to be so awesome!
  16. found a local bar in town that got the rights to show the fight, cost them $2600 lol they're charging $10/head at the door
  17. QUOTE (Real @ May 3, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) And that my friends, is a EC Semifinal Loss, Hawks in 6 hell of a prediction by me, lol if rose plays like he did tonight, he might as well be 100% healthy, figuring with a bum ankle, he scored 44, a career high & career postseason high f***...
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 6, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) let me guess, you were saying the same thing this time last season too...? why are you deflecting and avoiding my point? and if I had said it last year, how would it have been wrong? does the MLB award the division to the first team to go 25-5? This team is TOAST, stick a fork in 'em!
  19. lol this team is toast, don't fight it
  20. Pierre and Ozzie's mancrush for him is definitely hurting this team, but guys, this team isn't winning the division so it's coming down to how badly do you want a top-10 pick or not
  21. Seattle has a badass airport, it has it's own subway system! I remember it well coming back from Vancouver, unfortunately i didn't get to actually enjoy the city itself
