  1. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) As long as you agree Walker is even more deserving of being fired I have no problem with your point of view. If not I laugh. I'm starting to lean that way, just because I wanted to see Beckham's sophomore slump not last an entire season. I can understand veteran hitters being who they are, but youngsters who are elite prospects like Beckham forgetting how to hit, or lack the ability to adjust after they've been adjusted to, that's on coaching. All I know is, I'm a sox fan and I'm f***ing pissed off at losing to the twins every year. If they need to fire everybody, then f***ing do it. Our players are good enough, the coaches aren't
  2. I hope Don Cooper gets fired. The inability of, arguably 90% of our pitching staff including the pen, our pitchers to throw strikes or even get pitches near the plate is inexcusable. Is this improper coaching or poor workouts/conditioning? All I know is Cooper is the pitching coach and he isn't doing his f***ing job Flame away. But keep asking yourself why Cooper is immune to criticism, when this s*** happens EVERY YEAR.

    Gavin Floyd

So much for being able to get rid of Teahen! This is turning into one of the worst seasons to watch/endure in a long time. 2007 was just bad all the way around, but with Peavy, Floyd now, giving away the division on a silver platter to the Twins, choking/quitting. What a disaster. I'll be surprised if somebody doesn't lose their job in the offseason, honestly
  4. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) Who their right mind wants Teahen? If you're dangling Danks or Floyd, someone will probably take his contract just as a "Ok, whatever. Where do I sign"
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) Well, I just disagree with the bolded, not much more to it than that. As for the 2nd part, I do agree completely with that but I still fully expect to see him get moved. Teahen will be packaged with either Danks or Floyd in the offseason, that's my prediction
  6. DJ: "HIGH AND DEEP TO LEFT, IF IT'S FAIR IT'S GAME OVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! Foul Ball!" He has a lot of Hawk in him.
  7. I don't see Sale pitching a single inning in the minor leagues next year, barring a rehab start due to injury..figuring how he had his agent stipulate being a major leaguer in his draft season. And just how good he's been this year for us, I have a feeling he gets the Danks treatment, being spot started for every now and then to keep his innings low if they indeed use him as a starter. My guess is he'll pitch out of the pen quite a bit next year and start for us in 2012.
  8. holy s***, AJ is hitting .272? how is that even possible with how he started
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 11:03 PM) I don't trust Peavy for one second to stay healthy for an entire season. well, my point was i can trust him to throw strikes
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) Who on this pitching staff can be trusted next season??? as f***ed up as it is for me to say it, Mark Buehrle and if Peavy can actually throw a baseball, him as well. Danks and Floyd and Jackson are guys who either strike you out, or walk the f***ing bases loaded. I want the Twins starting staff, they f***ing know how to throw strikes. Danks and Floyd and as of lately Jackson (as well as his career numbers), can't throw a strike when it matters
  11. lmao, congrats AJ. f***ing mental midget, just like the rest of this team
  12. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) Simpleton comment. You cannot equate the results with the effort expended. Don't get a leaky vag because my comment upsets you. they're 10 out with no playoff chances, only difference between them and detroit is detroit hasn't cashed it in
  13. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 09:27 PM) my god why is this team so bad They're quitters
  14. QUOTE (VAfan @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) Okay, this was not one of my best prediction threads. I predicted a twins sweep in game 1's gamethread, this team is garbage
  15. lol, comparing our injuries to the tigers? they lost at least 6 starting players, Inge.. though he came back sooner than expected, Miner, Magglio, Carlos Guillen, Zumaya, Bobby Seay, Ryan Perry went on the DL for a couple weeks. There's more I can't think of, but I remember making mental notes of when their guys were going down because I was like, WTF?) We lost Jenks for the year, Ulnar Neuritis? lol, and Peavy of course but he was replaced with 4 stellar starts, 2 bad ones, and 1 winnable one if it weren't for Sergio (not dissing on him, I think his arm is probably dead at this point, hoping he bounces back next year), and Thornton and Putz, though we were on our 7 game streak with those two out
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) Does Bobby Jenks get a World Series ring if the Twins win it all? Hard to argue that he wasn't a catalyst for their amazing 2nd half run. What pisses me off more than anything is that nobody will be held accountable. Actually one guy will be, Konerko. He won't be resigned for next year. That'll be the Sox gift to him. Allowing him to get a chance to win next year, that sure as f*** isn't a possibility playing with this clown crew.
  17. Swept, called this two days ago. This team is a crock of s*** from top to bottom.
  18. Since June 11, we've gained .5 games on the twins after tonight
  19. Blah blah, puff piece. This team is where it is, 8 games out and financially strapped for 2011 because of Kenny , the gambler. Go gamble in Oakland
  20. I voted Morel for 3B, and Infante & Sale in the pen
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) What's wrong with their pitching? Liriano > ?? > ?? > ?? for the playoffs, against the Yankees who are, let's be honest, in the Twins heads just as much as the Twins are in the Sox heads. The Yankees don't have a great rotation either, but they have a ridiculous lineup and an average bullpen and an ace closer. Nick Blackburn and Carl Pavano would be destroyed by the Yankees. Imagine if Pavano had to start a game at NYS, hahaha. It'd be like Gavin pitching with a runner on base, the horror.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:27 PM) Just looking at the Twins lineup, if Morneau can return healthy next season, there's no reason they cannot win 95-100 games again. Just absurd depth throughout with a few superstars around them. I'm predicting a Tigers/Twins tandem at the top of the division at the end of 2011. Sox will be a 3rd place team. Will be decent, maybe 87 or 88 wins, but the Tigers and Twins are way beyond us looking forward.
  23. QUOTE (daggins @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) Just want to chime in that although I don't usually buy into a lot of intangibles talk, it's really frustrating to see a good team wet their pants so bad against any rival, let alone a divisional one. Main reason i'd call for major changes this offseason... Twins are in these guys heads. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it every game of every series with Minny. Most accurate post in this thread. Changes need to be made, because we need to get guys in here who haven't been mindf***ed by the Twins franchise. That definitely means Ozzie Guillen has to go, and I wouldn't shed a tear if AJ was gone as well as Danks/Floyd. Neither of those guys can come up big for us anymore when we need them, bed wetters.
