  1. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:41 PM) also getting JBJ sets up Rios to Texans for Odor No chance he's a part of the deal.
  2. I was REALLY hoping for Cechinni -- I don't trust Iglesias' bat.
  3. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) My hopes aren't up, but it was the Pirates guy who mentioned his name in a deal. I would Fing love if Rick was able to pull it off Some Twitter sources said a package had been discussed, though, not that the Pirates offered it.
  4. Taillon is a pipe dream, my friends. Please do not get your hopes up.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 04:35 PM) Several dollars. Dozens, at least
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) Despite interest from the Red Sox, A's, D'Backs, and Cardinals, the sense is the White Sox are coming down on their asking price for Peavy, tweets Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com. Inevitable
  7. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 03:36 PM) Rios would veto a trade to the Yankees. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/white-sox/...se-trade-rumors
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 03:26 PM) Gallardo just limped off the field. Dark times for Brewers fans.
  9. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) A's are back in on Peavy according to Slusser. Goddamn that fickle Brad Pitt! Just make up your mind! Send us Carlos Pena!
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:13 PM) Now everyone's expectations for a return on Rios are going to be way too unrealistic. Yeah, weeks of tempering expectations toward realistic just got ruined, lol.
  11. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:09 PM) QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) if we can get Taillon from the Pirates everyone should be singing the praises to Mr. Rick Hahn Don't know much about him other than he's their number 1 prospect. Got a quick scouting report on him and maybe Davidson? Just do a time sensitive Google search and browse around. They'll all say Taillon is super legit. I can't believe there's any chance we actually get him, though I'm sure Hahn obviously asked for him.
  12. Apparently only money is holding up a deal for Peavy to ARZ, according to MLBTR
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) Then how do you explain Francisco Liriano being the ace of the 2nd best team in MLB (by 1/2 game)? He's always had frontline stuff, his problems have always been health and inconsistency. It's not surprising that he has gone on a tear like this, he's done it before (in the AL Central)
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:33 PM) Then neither is Peavy. Because I would take his potential, growing stamina/endurance and multiple out pitch arsenal over Jake Peavy any day of the week, if it was finding a starting pitcher to build the rotation around (after Sale) in 2015/16. Put Quintana and Santiago in the NL West or NL Central and they'd nearly be Cy Young candidates. Uh, you are aware that the NL Central is arguably the strongest division currently, and that the AL Central is arguably the weakest, right?
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:39 AM) I figure doing what can be done to ease the tension is the best thing to do right now. We might find out in the next hour that Peavy has been traded, or we could go another 27 and a half hours and find out that he wasn't traded at all. Beating yourself up over it is just a waste of time at this point You're right, and I'm definitely stressing out a bit.
  16. Passan suggesting Norris to the Pirates, and that Glasnow might be in play. It would be super lame if the Sox could have gotten Glasnow if they'd have chipped in money.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:29 AM) Well that's because he's overhyped by the media, don't listen to that drivel. He has Shane Spencer or Gypford Gomfrey written all over him. I am interested in Marvin though. I know the Sox don't have a huge need for pitching, but he's got a freakin laser. The fact that we could probably continue this for at least 4 more exchanges and no one would complain says a lot about how little information exists in this thread
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) I think that Jake Peavy is going to be traded to the Jupiter Martians today No way they can handle the salary. Plus, outside of XXqalctz, I'm not enamored with any of their position players.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:19 AM) I don't think that is correct. Too many times in the past people on this board and have said we received too llittle in trades. Just because a trade can be made doesn't mean it's a god one. The team sucks and clearly needs to sell. It is the right course of action given the information we have. While we certainly might be upset later at the execution, it isn't unreasonable to hope for the FO to take the right course of action.
  20. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) I dont get why people are just errantly hoping for a trade You have to hear what the trade is and then decide if you like it or not. That doesn't mean you wouldn't rather give Hahn the benefit of the doubt than to stand pat and let the best players on the third worst team in baseball rot instead of bring future value back.
  21. I'm sure they DO covet Sale. I imagine the best offer would be Bundy (TJ), Gausman, Schoop, two lesser guys. I wouldn't take that deal. It would have to include Machado, and the Orioles wouldn't move Machado.
  22. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:31 AM) I miss Kotsay, at least with that guy you always knew he was giving it his all, true competitor! Fixed!
