  1. Yeah, I'm tired of this media guilt trip garbage. I'm the f***ing customer, and the Sox are not some charity. If I choose to consume the product, I'll consume it how I choose. I watch 120-130 Sox games on TV every year, and as a direct result of me and those like me, the Sox get bajillions of dollars from their TV deal. Everyone in that organization is making a ton of money directly from us, and then they have the audacity to threaten us with a crappy product if we don't buy it twice?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) Any player with a football background will be attributed to KW. Lol, this is true
  3. FWIW, I think we have to pick up Youk's option because there is simply no other way to get league average production at 3B. Take a look at the free agent crop -- it's abysmal. Peavy is an easier decline, IMO, because there are going to be way more ways to supplement the rotation than to supplement third base this offseason, especially considering that Headley has become so highly coveted.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) Bringing Youk back for $13 million would be a huge mistake, IMO. He's hitting around .200 since the ASB. If you're going to invest that much in a 3rd baseman, it seems like you could use that money for a better player. I'm not sure who would be available in the offseason (trade market). I'm not saying you're wrong, but quoting his BA at .200 is a horrible argument. At least use OPS, if not wOBA -- his homerun pace since he joined us has been something in the high-30's over a full season, and we know he walks a ton, which is tremendously valuable in front of Dunn/Konerko. His batting average is maybe tenth on the list of offensive numbers we should care about.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Padres pick him back up on a 3/36 or something.
  6. I bet what this means is we start seeing Hahn address the media more often each year for a couple years and gradually assume the role. And then KW retires when Hahn takes the training wheels off.
  7. I feel like all these titles mean nothing. Like Hoyer is the Cubs GM, but it's Epstein that addresses the media and speaks like he's running the show. If KW is president, is he still running the show? Otherwise, what does President do?
  8. How about 8 or so fewer infield flies? I've never seen so many godd*** pop ups in my life.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) 23.1 IP and 0 ER against us. f***ing Christ. Those were probably the two best starts of his career, though. I mean it wasn't like he just mystified us or anything, the guy had three pitches spot on both those nights and got them all over the plate. This is something he has not been able to do with any consistencyover the course of his career, so we shouldn't expect that he'll do it again.
  10. Any team can play well or poorly over a 16 game stretch. Anything can happen, but the odds are on our side because we have a three game lead.

  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) What is farmer pissed about, Cabrera? First it was the blown call at first, but yeah, the second was the inside slider to Cabrera. Farmer is harping on how bad an idea it was not to stay away.
  13. Wow, Farmer is SO fired up. Am I the only one listening to the Score feed?
  14. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 02:44 PM) No way, he did it again. How have I never noticed Farmer losing it in the background before? HA! Farmer: "He's an idiot! He's Stupid! Stupid!" Is he going to be in trouble over this? Does this usually happen?
  15. No way, he did it again. How have I never noticed Farmer losing it in the background before?
  16. LOL Farmer just flipped out with the mic off -- you could hear him the background clearly over DJ's mic: "You gotta be F***ing kidding me!"
  17. Oh, wow. The MLB GameDay iPhone app is significantly delayed, apparently. I refreshed this to see you all celebrating two pitches before it happened, lol.
  18. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 09:45 AM) Would have been nice if Mully and Hanley talked to Copper this morning on the radio about his instead of rumors that you know he was not going to address, morons. I really wish the SCORE did some producing. I listened to the interview on the way to work: I agree that the content was useless -- but I actually blame Coop, who didn't answer a single question that they asked. It was like the Onion section where someone answers reader letters with content that had nothing to do with the letters. They actually asked Coop about the Axelrod/Santiago situation and how they determine who needs rest and how concerned they were about injuries, and he just rambled on about being ina pennant race and taking everything day by day.
  19. CQ was not an option this year. KW had to cut a ton of salary, whether you wanted him to or not. Under that directive, there's no way you can argue that there were better ways to do that than dropping CQ.
  20. He really does seem to hate all White Sox prospects, doesn't he?
