QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) There are a lot of people who doubted Adam Morrison too... at 6-8, Morrison was probably the least athletic player in the nba and was the slowest player at the wing position. he was worse than kyle korver at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the hoop. the guy also battles type 1 diabetes off the court. it's not a surprise that he turned out as a bust. if you want to compare someone to morrison in this draft, kyle singler would be the closest comparison like I said, jimmer is decent athlete, and can probably get to the hoop at the pro level as well. He should also be quick enough to guard an average PG in NBA. He seems like a Orlando type of player, so I don't even think the Bulls will have a chance at him. Given that the Bulls will finish better than the Magic for sure.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) There is a whole lot of doubt to the NBA-ness of Jimmer. He could very well be a second round pick from the sounds of it. most mock drafts have him in the first round and as high as 20th. I think people who doubt him also had doubts about curry and reddick, but they both are very solid pros now. I would also like to point out that Jimmer is more athletic than people give him credit for. I have watched him twice and he definitely brings more to the table than shooting. but yeah, like many have said, bulls are picking very late in the first round, assuming they don't trade the pick away at the deadline. i dont really see many impact players going that late besides a Jujuan johnson. taking a great shooter and a good ball handler as a combo guard, and who has a chance to be the next steph curry seems like good value to me.

as far as offseason goes, it would be delightful for us to draft the great Jimmer Fredette.

LMFAO. The most hustle i have saw boozer put in all year at the defensive end, he jumped 4 feet in the air in a block attempt on ryan anderson at the three point line, when anderson was clearly not going to shoot it, then anderson bumped into him for 3 freebies. it was not even close. the dude has no clue on defense, just funny.

anyone tried texting Spring to Chisox for a discount code? i tried but it didn't work. They were advertising it on ESPN radio last week, I was wondering what is the discount on the tickets

the officiating in this game is horrible, rose got fouled on at least 3 to 4 drives to the hoop in the first half and no called was made, then tyrus thomas got bailed out with a p**** foul called when there wasn't even any contact. ronnie brewer got hammered on that layup attempt, no call was made, then the whole building saw augustin travel on that layup but not the refs, and why was rose hit with an offensive foul on the last drive? this is easily the worst officiated game of the year so far. do these f***ing refs got money on this game or something?

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 05:50 PM) Yeah they should definitely make the Conference Semi - Finals (although whoever gets Atlanta in the 1st round will have an interesting time). I just don't see them on Miami, Boston and Orlando's level, yet, but they're very close. They're 1 impact player away IMO. You also have to wonder if Rose can keep playing at such a high level for the rest of the season and into the playoffs, but getting Noah back and a trade at the deadline should help him on that regard. but i think the magic has a bigger weakness than the bulls do. they have absolutely no front court depth after howard. they also do not have any good perimeter defenders on their roster. so if howard is forced to sit with foul trouble (which he did last year in the playoffs), the magics are doomed with no interior or perimeter defense and live and die by the three ball.

i think deng will be the X factor for the bulls have a chance to beat miami in the playoffs. he showed today that he is very dynamic when he is on his game. Gay is no lebron james, but deng completely shut him down today. if he can play defense with the same intensity, and knock threes when he is open, the bulls will be a tough out for miami.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) I've just seen a lot of people say this the last few hours. Rodgers's domination of Atlanta is skewing a lot of people's perception of Green Bay. The Bears aren't the Falcons' s***ty overrated D. but you also have to know that the bears are a great overall defense because of their rush defense (2nd ranked in the league) and their ability to force turnovers. the pass defense has been below average (20th in the league), and even Hasselback had a good game today. Lovie's defense is geared towards making solid tackles, not allowing big plays, blitzing, and forcing turnovers, they do not play to shut down the opposing receivers, and do not have the personnel to do so. IIRC opposing QBs are completing pass in a pretty high rate against the Bears pass defense. with the way Rodgers is playing right now, you gotta hope that Bears can somehow slow him down, and Cutler shows up to play next week. -

wonder what kind of game Rodgers will have against our pass defense next week -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 06:29 PM) From one Mr. Rosen; read the article a few days back, i don't disagree with Rosen's analysis on Rose's defense. He has shown flashes of he can become a very good defender this season, but many times he is still getting torched by the opponent's pick and roll offense. last night alone, he has given up 3 to 4 good looks to arroyo, house and chalmers off a pick. when he came out of college, many scouts thought he could be a shut down defender and a all defense talent, but he is in his third year now, and playing under one of the best defensive coaches in the league, you have got to wonder if Rose is ever going to live up to his potential on defense.

unless Omer wacks Bosh viciously with a golf club after he got off his late night shift and mcdonalds, bosh has no business saying Omer prevents him from providing for his family. these players make so much money a year, that their family can live a very nice life after only a couple paychecks. providing for his family is the last thing Bosh is playing for.

For a while, the Heat looked like they could reel off 50 straight wins to tie or shatter the Bulls 72-10 record, now we can officially rule them out.... this season. By the way. Arron Afflalo looked really nice tonight and did a great job defending Wade. Both him and JR Smith had great games tonight, but I think Afflalo will be a better fit for the Bulls because he can do more with less. Just check his stats and he is something like 50-40-85 in terms of shooting %. and he NEVER turns the ball over. He would be a terrific fit with Rose and Boozer. If I were GarPax, Afflalo and Mayo are on top of my trade list for shooting guards.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 07:05 AM) LeBron is now day-to-day after rolling (rather painfully looking) his ankle. Karma heard him and was like "Oh, yeah. Forgot! I'M COMIN' BRON!" And it was against the Clippers, a team he led on during free agency, after he attacked the Cavs. The next two games are against the Nuggets (who he hurt inadvertently by making Melo jealous of the Superfriends) and the Bulls (see Clippers). Will karma strike? Hopefully in the form of a James Johnson roundhouse kick? I'd much rather see lbj getting dunked on by scal and Stacey king goes crazy like "oh no oh no u didnt scal!!! don't do the king like that!! WTF is the poster machine?!"
-
Lebron on his karma tweet. seems that this guy has no balls to own up to what comes out of his mouth.

lakers destroyed any dignity cleveland has left. and the word destroy might even be understating the score.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 25, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) One of the more poorly officiated games of the year right after the knicks loss. i do not recall any really bad calls in that game. knicks beat them fair and square. we have different perspectives. that's all.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) Let's trade Rose for Griffin. And god damn. Rondo had 22 assists tonight. no big deal, but u'd be frustrated by rose the last three games if he was on your fantasy team.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) LoL unlike you, i do not blame the refs. i blame the players, bad calls happen in every game to every team, players make plays that lead to refs making calls. blame the bulls' loss to the knicks on the refs? blame the refs when your team obviously got outplayed in the game? LMAO

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:23 PM) Early contender for Soxtalk's overreaction for 2011. Deng can blow hard at times, but rather seeing Scals out there? C'mon son. that was exaggeration, obviously. but seriously, deng really needs to step up his game in close games. if u pay attention closely, when the game is on the line Deng fails. According to 82games, his clutch stats are 14 ppg per 48 minutes and shoots 38%, Rose and Boozer? 39 and 48 ppg/48 minutes. pretty big drop off between your first second and third option huh. but more importantly, it you are really letting your team down if you clank both free throws in that situation. for the record, i believe deng now has the worst free throw shooting of all qualifed small forwards. he needs to do better than that and Rose did draw some contact on that last shot, but it was marginal. It's the NBA, refs will not let their whistles decide the outcome of the game unless it was an obvious foul, it's always been like that. I actually thought it was a good no call. Blame his teammates for not setting a good screen for him.
-
rose in his last 3 games, 3 rebounds, 0 steals, 0 blocks. horrible. deng is a flat out choker, next time when the game is on the line, i much rather see scalabrine on the floor as to deng.
-
if u want to talk about nonsense, how about all the cheering and ovation scalabrine receives.
