i remember just two years ago many analysts called bosh an overrated oversized small forward who is also a decent rebounder. Yes, he had a nice run last year during his contract year, it's highly doubtful he will have another year like last year's. With him in the lineup, Toronto was the worst team in the league in terms of defense. So i dont think you can call him a defensive stopper either.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:47 AM) I don't really see how you can say that when the two best players in the equation are on the other side. Deng and Beasley are both talented forwards that most seem to want to give away for free, so they kind of cancel out. Does Noah's defense/rebounding make up ALL of the difference between the caliber of the two stars? Hard to say. I would say it depends on who else signs. If they Heat got Haywood or some other defensive center, then I'd say they're better than the Bulls since Noah is the only edge you can really argue that Chicago has right now. You must be high if you think Deng = Beasley. Unlike Beasley, deng doesn't have attitude problems, and works hard on defense. Deng is a grown man, and beasley is a whiny little b****. Heat wants to trade Beasley for a pure salary dump, but Bulls would actually get something in return for Deng. Overall Deng is a much better player and team player right now. deng > beasley by a landslide the heats have 1 superstar, 1 borderline superstar, 1 bench player, bulls have 1 future superstar, 1 allstar, and 1 potential allstar. Given that, I would say Heats might have a little bit of an edge there. but the bulls also have two solid role players in Gibson and Johnson. And the Bulls should have about $2.5mil to sign a free agent after they hand out a max, while if the Heat sign the big 3, they would be forced to sign only minimum contracts. So overall, the Bulls should have an edge overall in terms of roster. But roster is not the biggest concern here, Lebron's ego and loyalty ultimately decides where he will sign.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) Bulls need Anthony Morrow big (assuming no LBJ). He'd be the perfect sixth man. I'd also sign Ronnie Brewer to be our starting 2-guard. Not a great offensive player, but can score efficiently and play solid D which we will need at the guard spot. Also brings nice size. I'd also go for Luke Ridnour for the back-up PG spot to round out the roster along with Asik who is a forgone conclusion as an addition. Rose/Ridnour Brewer/Morrow Deng/Johnson Boozer/Gibson Noah/Asik That is a solid group right there who should hopefully grow into a bonafide contender in couple years when Rose becomes hopefully a star. that starting 5 would require no defense at the perimeter, all opposing defense has to do is stay at home around the painted area to guard Rose's penetration. Brewer would be a nice addition for a 6th man My 5 would look like this rose/ jwill or ridnour allen or miller / morrow deng / barnes boozer / gibson noah / ratliff or asik

this thought just got to my mind. boozer will be a post up player for the bulls, which means Noah will be forced out of the paint more often, where he will attempt to do some catch and shooting. We will see a lot more of those ugly shots from Noah next season.

QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) I stop reading for a few hours and it takes forever to catch up. Can anyone share the story about Delonte West and LeBron's mom? it was rumored that Delonte did this http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/17/g...o_n_578750.html

just a thought, if lebron comes to the bulls to join the current roster, wins 6 rings and plays for the same amount of games as Jordan did, while average stats to his career average, who would you say as the greatest of all time?

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:43 PM) he's a 2 time all star there and his overall postseason numbers are 20/12, in the west that is good. Also he's a power forward, he needs a good PG to make the most out of him offensively, not comparing Deron Williams and D Rose, but Rose is a good PG really? are you a fan of Tmac back in the days? just assuming lol There is no question that he is talented, but he is also soft, doesn't hustle and play hard to fit the mold of a player on a championship team. It would be great if signing Lebron can get more commitment out of him.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:39 PM) Boozer has accomplished a lot in the Western Conference which has been much tougher than the East on a night in and night out basis. really, he hasn't accomplish much, much of their success is due to Dwill, they played just as well when he was hurt and Milsap subbed in. He got flamed I think in the 09 postseason for being too soft and not hustling and attacking the basket during a playoff game.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:31 PM) well he's on the Bulls for 5 years and they played on the redeem team on the same court 2 years ago boozer wasn't the reason why USA won the medal. he was only a small part of it. Boozer just appears to me as a guy who doesn't work hard on defense, doesn't come through when it matters, and sometimes loses interest to the game. Let's say if Boozer calls up Lebron and say, hey Bron come join me in Chicago, I am committed to winning just as you are, I will help you get that ring! Lebron would be like bulls***, you are about the money more than anything. I hope it's not the case, but it could be in Lebron's mind.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) I've seen reports that they actually stayed good friends despite that incident. they could be good friends off the court, but I think Boozer lost some of his credibility to Lebron when it comes to basketball. If I am Lebron, I can't fully trust Boozer's commitment to the team again.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:20 PM) I think it is good that Boozer and LBJ have been teammates on the olympic team. That should help. they also had been teammates on the Cavs in 2003, then Boozer left Lebron hanging by bolting for the Jazz. Would Lebron really take Boozer serious on free agency matters again?
-
if you are delonte west, would you really want to sleep with her? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/17/g...o_n_578750.html looks like the depression issue is really getting to his head.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) It could be something. I mean, you don't just change your paperwork. What all it truly means, I'm not so sure because I really don't know what he did. I assume he is changing his mailing address to a new location, but it claims it is an agency anyway so maybe he just changed agency that manage something for him? No idea. it's really a bulls*** story that Lebron changed his personal information. I mean, he could at least change it after he made the official announcement, it' not like he wanted to GTFO ASAP. Plus, so much could change within the next 24 hours to alter his decision, such as Bulls signing Boozer like we just saw.

interesting to see how Boozer fits in with Tom Thibodeau's philosophy. He is known as a weak defender.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) adande didn't say they bombed, he said from what he heard it wasn't what lebron wanted to hear, i.e., their whole pitch was come be the next michael jordan and he wasn't about being the NEXT MJ, but the FIRST LBJ. So, they didn't stroke his ego like everyone else. Still, I dunno how a "bomb" of a presentation lasted 3 hours... I wouldn't read too much into it. they didn't have this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukjXWXgDyu0

boozer gets a 5 year $80 mil deal, that means his first year salary is around $13.8 mil, we have a little over $30 mil in cap space, so that leaves us about just enough to sign Lebron, let's hope that when the actual cap announces tonight, it won't be any less than the projected cap.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) Evidently a message board rumor going around is that a Detroit station is reporting that there has been talks of a 3 way deal with the Bulls/Blazers/Pistons which would move Deng &Maxiell to Portland, Bayless/Pyrz to Detroit, and Rip to Chicago. Take it for what it is worth. Personally I don't know how that is really that great of a move? I think we need a 2 guard that can shoot long range and I don't see Rip being that guy. that only means one thing, the bulls are certain they will land lebron james, at least have a very very high chance of landing him. Lebron to the bulls!! hell yeah baby!!

if lebron james so respect the culture of Cleveland, a place where he calls home, he should be be compliant with the culture of the city. Add "The Decision" to the list of the moves/events that will haunt the city for another 20 years or so.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) Man, I'm pretty pissed off about this whole situation....couple thoughts 1. Wade played Chicago, not a doubt in my mind. His interview with Wilbon where he pretty much jumbled his words so badly that he stated that his kids were important but he felt he had to leave "emotion" out of his decision.....well, either he's a cold hearted prick or he was just using his kids as a means of adding credibility to his consideration of joining the Bulls. I always thought it odd that Wade was considering the Bulls after having just badmouthed the organization for being disloyal....I guess I just looked past that in hopes of having him on our team. 2. Chris Bosh annoys me.....and the most amazing thing to me in this whole FA mess is that Chris Bosh dictated the terms for what Wade and LBJ are doing. Not sure how in the hell he managed that, but he did. 3. I actually am going to come out of this respecting Lebron more than either Bosh or Wade regardless of where he goes (the ridiculousness of the announcement show is beside the point). He's done an absolutely incredible job of keeping quiet and keeping his circle of trust small. He hasn't given interviews, mysterious tweets, etc....he's just gone about his business like a professional. Of the big3, he's shown the greatest restraint and has held his ego in check (pretty crazy for an egomaniac) 4. Paxson needs to go. He's been here for over 7 years and, outside of a lucky lottery pick, has not accomplished anything. I don't even want him canned for missing the big 3 because, from what we know, he did what he could. The thing is, what if someone else could do more than he could. 7 years is long enough to sense a trend, and for the Bulls that trend seems to be mediocrity and a difficult time recruiting talent. To think that Wade once questioned the Bulls for their loyalty, for Vinny Del Negro and such, Paxson is also the man to blame for the VDN incident and his firing.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) Same answer. It has nothing to do with the Bulls or their players. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5361014&a...egoryid=2459788 Base on the interview with Wade and Bosh, it seems that they made their decisions base on flexibility, which Miami does hold the advantage over the Bulls. I guess Bosh told Wade that he wants to play with him, whether it’s in New York, Chicago or Miami. The Bulls already have Derrick Rose, who needs the ball in his hands to be effective, and he is cut from the same cloth as Wade is in several aspects. I guess their decision of bolting from the Bulls has to do with already having a guy like Rose on the team and doesn’t have the flexibility to sign someone else. If the Bulls only have Noah and a guy like Gallinari on the team, I could see them being a front runner for both of them So in some sense, it really has to do with who is on the team. What I also got from that interview is that it’s more apparent Lebron will not join them in Miami, because Lebron and Wade needs the ball, and signing Lebron will go against their luxury of having flexibility. Even Lebron himself might not join the two because his stats will take a big hit similar to the big three in Boston, and he be pull himself out of the G.O.A.T conversation when it’s all said and done. I believe he will choose between Cleveland, New York, Chicago, Miami, and New Jersey in that order. Probably something like Cleveland 60%, New York 20%, Chicago 10% Miami and NJ both 5%

Broussard is reporting that Cavs will keep Lebron and aim to do a sign and trade for bosh. Am I being logical in thinking if Lebron and Bosh goes to Cleveland, the most logical destination for Wade is Chicago because no matter who the Heat signs along with Wade would not give them a chance to compete the Cavs or the Magic. If Wade do come to Chicago, he can help recruit a guy like Boozer or Lee to come here, and That will form a pretty good starting 5 to compete in the east, we may trade Deng and a pick away some point during this process if is a S&T, but we can sign a decent SF with the $$ saved on Deng's contract. So Bosh and Lebron teaming up could actually be good news for the bulls? Though the chances of losing both Wade and Boozer due to injuries in some point during the season is probably a lot higher than us winning the championship.
-
Did Rose really say he prefers JJ over Lebron? Don't think so. I know Rose and JJ is a better fit, but Rose wanted Lebron here as well. Pathetic Cleveland beat writers trying to create rumors and dramas of a dysfunctional Rose Lebron relationship to turn Lebron away.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:21 AM) He's been in the league for more than 7 years. He can get 30% of the cap on a max. either way, he is not amare, he is older and is an inferior player to amare. A team would be crazy to hand out 30% of the cap to him. 5 year $80 mil- $85 mil is what he is worth

i really think the key here is bosh, if we somehow signs Bosh first, that will give us the best chance to land wade or Lebron. Lebron or Wade returning to their former teams will not have a better cast than Bosh with the Bulls roster. if either of them are focused on winning, they would fight for the spot to sign with the bulls
