  1. I envy the Pels. They turned Anthony Davis into Ball, Ingram, Hart, Hayes, NAW, plus potentially 3 first round picks, 2 first round swaps, 35th pick coming up, and shredded Hill’s $14m contract in the process.
  2. How much are we under slot right now when including the extra $500K for 5% overage? I would imagine Vaughn and Thompson signs for slot and Dalquist gets the $2M. Would be nice if we could nab a Krogman or Trenkle as well. Trenkle seems like a long shot but Krogman seems signable based on previous reports.
  3. Fact: In the 1980s players had to leave games early to take a shit all the time. It’s just Twitter wasn’t around to run a story on it.
  4. I think at this point they pretty much phone in random draft IDs and hope it's linked to an actual player.
  5. Sure, I’m sure people who preferred Vaughn wouldn’t mind passing on him if that player existed. However the 2 guys who fit the bill were taken 1 and 2. There is literally no one else who has the ceiling that worth passing on the hitting ability of Vaughn. If you don’t find the right guy, no need to get cute and fancy there.
  6. I think his hit tool carries, he’ll be a MLB hitter at the very least, serviceable 1B or DH is his likely floor. Guys like Abrams or Bedlay may have higher upside but absolutely bigger question marks. I just didn’t agree with your Vaughn being the most risky top 10 pick comment.
  7. Yea bro your argument is completely falling apart here. You want a guy who, unlike Vaughn, has a high floor and offers more value than just hit/power, Madrigal is exactly that. Or if you want a guy, who unlike Madrigal, who could hit and hit right away and Vaughn will be that. You can’t argue both ways however. And you can keep talking up Bedlay, but no way I’m taking him over Vaughn with the swing and miss issue. He has a plus arm but isn’t a plus defender. That plus arm in RF isn’t enough for me to pass on Vaughn’s pure hitting ability. He’s more of a Jared Mitchell comp risk-wise than Vaughn.
  8. Also it’s super ironic Jack Parkman is preaching tools over production here yet he trashes Madrigal on the daily because he’s only hitting .270 with little power. I guess you gotta have your cake and eat it too huh.
  9. Except Vaughn to Bedlay comparison is very different than Mitchell to Trout.
  10. Is there anyone with Trout upside Sox passed on?
  11. Nice try Jack. Vaugh is the safest bat in the draft outside of Adley. His position limits his upside but his bat is hardly risky.
  12. If he keeps this up, a 50-60 game sample size is enough to show he's ready to handle pitching at next level.
  13. This is just as silly as your theory Robert should have been left in A ball for the rest of the year because he had a 23% K rate. Have you learned anything about prospect development since then? I thought it would have been shocking for you that Robert is succeeding at AA and lowered his K rate at the same time? Many prospects around the league have succeeded since Beckham when given an aggressive assignment. What happened to Beckham has absolutely nothing to do with Robert. Aggressive assignments rarely ruin prospects, prospects get exposed because they lack talent and that is something you could spend years in minor and still have the same issue at the highest level.
  14. What’s harder? Hitting in the Bham pitcher’s park against AA pitching or at Charlotte’s hitter’s park with the juice ball against AAA/AAAA pitching, or your boner when Robert is called up?
  15. Also note that Robert had 3 doubles and 3 RBIs, yet 0 runs scored. Just goes to show how bad the guys hitting behind him are right now.
  16. For those with the Juan Soto comp, Soto raked in his first stop last year and hit the ground running in his 2nd and 3rd stops as well. Looks like Robert could be on his way to that type of streak. Only question is how aggressive will the Sox be.
  17. From practicality standpoint, what exactly does Robert has to gain by beating up inferior competition and putting video game numbers. It stunts his development more than it helps to be frank. If you’re so much bette than your peers at work at what you do, do you actually need to get better at it? Between Fall league, ST, the 20 game sample so far, and scouting videos it’s no question he’s significant better than A+ pitching. Elite MLB prospects has proven themselves in smaller sample size.
  18. Did you missed the part he was dealing with multiple injuries. It not was reflective of his talent or development. Take a look at what he did against better competition in fall league and spring training after he has healed from injury he has proven capable of handling pitching above A+. His current supernatural performance backs that up.
  19. That’s why he shouldn’t be promoted. Those 2 games are more important than the rest of the body of work.
  20. Who cares if his wRC+ is twice as good as an all star level player, his K% is 4% above the magical 20% mark.
  21. So the leader of the dead and the second biggest villain in the show could be snuck up and killed in an improvised attack and the the only character he would kill was Theon? Not what I was expecting. Regardless whether dragon glass was the weapon that does the deed I had expected more battles with NK than the rushed ending to this part of the story. Maybe the living had to retreat from Winterfell after badly destroyed from the first battle and Thirion and Co have to devise a better strategy for a final battle with NK with what’s remaining. Again, the presentation and the setup in this episode was great, my biggest issue was not learning more about the back story and motivation of NK. It seems like the whole time he just wanted to kill people and “erase the three eyed raven from existence”, which is lacking in depth compared to rest of the story arc. At least a chat there with Bran would have been nice. This piece here basically called the ending to NK but also called what it would have felt had NK been defeated the way he did. https://www.thisisinsider.com/game-of-thrones-white-walkers-zombie-killed-2017-8
  22. Yea, that part also didn’t make sense. I thought Bran would have had a bigger purpose in the NK battle other than basically just baiting.
  23. It was almost too easy. One stab and poof, all gone. Way too anticlimatic with how dire their situations were just second before.
  24. Reading all the fan theory of the background of night king had me excited about this battle. Despite the phenomenal presentation the episode wasn’t satisfying for me. Now I kind of feel that NK wasn’t all that significant as a character despite a 10 year build up.
