  1. You must have not read this board last week when most jumped off the Machado ship when tweet from an imposter journalist came out.
  2. I have been optimistic as well despite all the Clark/Leyritz/Simonetti tweets, but I wouldn't count Phillies out just yet. They're the only team with cash like the Sox (maybe more so) to spend on Harpchardo, and Harper is set to meet with them in Philly. If nothing else, Boras will use the hell out of them to drive up the price on the Sox.
  3. Yet you were wrong 100% of the time and poses as having legit source.
  4. Take this for what it’s worth. Not sure how much it will be better than Sox offer, when one would be made. Philly is still not a desired city for both Harpchado.
  5. Let's see if the posters who bought Clark's tweet is jumping on this one. Knowing Soxtalk, any source of Sox failure is legit and Hahn should be fired, any sources with positive updates aren't credible.
  6. Also it is less likely this rumor is a plant by agents. The guy basically covered this for less than a minute on the radio before switching topics, and he clearly said he's not big on twitter discussions. It I am leaking this with intentions, I wouldn't have gone to him.
  7. Sources close to Manny says he’s choosing Yankees last week. Sources close to Manny says he’s choosing White Sox this week. Machado to Phillies next week confirmed.
  8. I am not sure in those other situations the other team could choose to outbid the Yankees by $50 million if they choose to. It’s a moneys game right now and Sox should be in driver seat.
  9. I know Bob is not widely respected here, but he tweeted out last night Machado will he getting final offers this week, and I think the biggest red flag is with how much uncertainty around the situation, it’s hard for him to know they had planned a conference to announce the signing on Jan 7th last week.
  10. I’ve been saying from the get go that he’s likely getting bad second hand info from someone close to Machado’s circle. But it’s completely on him that he put so much faith on it and tried to put down people who doubted his credibility along the way. I think that’s a lesson learned for him if he were to continue with his “gig”.
  11. I think @Chicago White Sox pointed out he also likely did not have real intel and was purely going on a hunch. It doesn’t look like he has close ties to the Yankees anymore. Again, he might be right at the end, but in Clark’s case he has tweeted out a lot more specificities, like how all final offers were submitted, Machado is already set to pick the Yankees, they will hold conference on Jan 7th, Andujar is staying with the team, etc. It’s those false details that’s coming back to bite him.
  12. Either way he gets no sympathy from me because how big of a douche he has been. The guy acts like a 15 year old trying to be cool and not any resemblance of a professional journalist.
  13. Kudos to those who were calling Clark’s tweet BS last week. Now that the big boys are returning to work, all signs point to him spewing BS without real information last week. He was either trying to strike first with a scoop by picking the most likely scenario while others are taking the week off, or he was fed with bad information and wanted to go down in flame with it.
  14. Even if they were trade Andujar, they could easily hold off on a announcing the smaller deal, which is Tulo signing, if they want to have more leverage here. I don't even think the Yankees-MM negotiation is in the late stages at this point.
  15. If Manny to Yankees is done deal like you’ve been pushing the envelope for, we would’ve heard about rumors of them shopping Andujar by now.
  16. I couldn’t imagine for a league minimum deal, a first division team like the Yankees is the only team who offered Tulo a deal. Tulo chose Yankees for a reason. Winning is one of them, playing time should be the other (at least until Didi is back).
  17. So if you’re signing Machado and he wanted to play SS, and you have an opening at SS for the foreseeable future, why go sign another SS? Let’s see what Clark says on this one.
  18. I am surprised he didn’t consult with his source on what this means.
  19. Would you still fire Hahn if Moncada turns out to be an above average 2B, Lopez and Gio are solid 3/4 starters, and you get a 66.7% success rate on Eloy/Cease/Kopech hitting their ceiling, and get another 3-4 from rest solid MLB regulars rest of the top 20 prospects? Nothing happened in 2018 that suggests this wouldn’t be the likely outcome. Hahn inherited an awful farm system and was asked to rebuild on the fly from 2012-16 with limited resources. He shown was given the green light for a full rebuild he made a slew of strong moves to jump start this rebuild. Now is a waiting game to see where these prospects take us. 2 years is not enough to determine Hahn has failed in this rebuild and needs to get the boot.
  20. Rebuilds don’t happen in a year or two. FWIW most posters were excited about the big 3 trades when it happened, and some were also able giving stamps of approval on the Rutherford trade. The draft philosophy has changed in the last few years where plate discipline is being emphasized. We made the sexy move by going for the biggest name in J2 signing. Most fans were happy about these moves when they happened, so calling for firing of them after 2 years (especially Hahn) is asinine, epecially since the minors were mauled by injuries this year. Give Hahn another 2 years with these prospects before bringing out the lynch mob.
  21. The longer this goes unacknowledged by other new outlets the better the situation is for the Sox. You just know someone somewhere is trying to confirm with either party whether a deal is in place but 24 hours has passed and not a peep. I also pointed out the MLBTR thing today and it basically shows even they are questioning the legitimacy of this "news".
