  1. If Braves are willing to do that trade you run and take it to the bank.
  2. With Camargo relegated to a utility role, now would be good time to check in with the Braves on him. Send LuBob, Yolmer and Nicky D to Braves for Camargo and Bryse Wilson. Sign another Bryce for $375M/10, Pollock $50M/2, and Eovaldi $48M/3 Quite and increase in expenditure, but the lineup is potent and a lot of potential in the rotation as well. 1. CF Pollock 2. 3B Camargo 3. RF Harper 4. 1B/DH Abreu 5. LF Eloy 6. 2B Moncada 7. DH/1B Palka 8. C Castillo 9. SS Anderson Rotation: 1. Rodon 2. Lopez 3. Eovaldi 4. Giolito 5. Wilson Bench: Leury/Rondon/Seby Bullpen: lots of strong young arms, sign a veteran to help stabilize.
  3. If for nothing else, keep the defensive big plays coming cuz I’m loving these moves!
  4. FWIW their rookie sensation Kerryon Johnson is also out, will have to lean on Blount and Riddick. We don't need Chase to be great to win this game. We have won games where Mitch struggled. So hopefully defense along with Howard/Cohen steps up tomorrow. But playing away in Detroit on a short week I could see defense slipping a bit in this one.
  5. I don't have the stats, but from the eye test we're a better team in 1st 3 Q than 4th. More than the play calling, it's a matter of why aren't we executing in the 4th compared to the 1st 3 quarters and find a way to address those issues. Is it because teams toughed up their D and we couldn't score, is it because we aren't as focused as before, is it because players are tired? It may not be something we could address this year itself, but I think it's what separates great teams from being an elite team.
  6. This. Gabriel is actually listed at 5'8, and 5'8 dudes do not win jump balls against NFL defenders, especially into double or triple coverage. If you do throw it, you're basically banking on making a perfect pass, not a risk we should take. I hope Mitch learns from it and it's the last of those attempts he makes.
  7. I hope we pick up a legit deep threat this off season or that Miller becomes one. We should NEVER throw deep to Gabriel unless he clearly has his man beat in single cover. On a side note, do we have any stats of Bears offense in the 4th quarter this season? I think more often than not, we've been playing not to lose than playing to put the other team away, which resulted into quick 3 and outs and more opportunities to the other teams to take shots at our defense. Maybe that's just part of winning football after years of trying to come from behind in the 4th?
  8. We should hire the same personnel Houston does, go after the same player they go after, even though we may or may not already have those types of players. Are we seriously going to have a thread created every time the Astros or Cubs make a move asking why is Hahn sitting on his ass?
  9. We need to stop throwing to Gabriel deep facing double coverage. He could not go and get the ball.
  10. But but this rebuild has been a failure... let’s go back to singing that tune.
  11. I will leave the Hahn evaluation for a separate argument. But expecting him to hit on all prospects is unrealistic, and it’s even more foolish to blame him for the Kopech, Hansen, and Dunning injuries like some dude posted above you did. Anyways, at a time when Cubs are seemingly coming back down to earth, going after franchise changing superstars is absolutely the right thin to do. I applaud the Sox for at least giving a serious pitch to Harper/Manny.
  12. Yep - even if we miss out on Machado and Harper - using that money to sign 3-4 impact players between now and 2020 will put us in a position to compete. Our window is starting 2020, if not earlier. You have to sign players if you see the right fit. You would have thought Oakland and Tampa wasn’t ready to compete but look at what they have done.
  13. Why would you feel uneasy if Sox are active in FA market? All of the guys Sox are interested in present an upgrade over current situation. This isn’t us looking to sign an aging DH with huge K issues to a 4 year deal. If your argument is you don’t trust Hahn as a GM then you need to re-title the thread.
  14. We're like 10 games into the season. I wouldn't worry about this until next year. He's not known to be an offensive minded, but with time he should be able to expand his game. Right now it's important for him to learn to take good shots within the flow of the offense instead of trying to force bad shots.
  15. I dont think you understand how free agent recuiting process works.
  16. MVP Rose Per 40: 26.8/4.4/8.2, 55% TS 2018 Rose Per 40: 25.9/4.8/6.5 55.6% TS Looks like he set the clock back by 7 years during daylight saving.
  17. I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about Parker's role on the Bulls. If he doesn't pan out at SF, he's as good as gone next season, no reason to pay $20 Mil for a backup PF with defensive issues. As for how the season is playing out, I love what I seen from WCJ so far, he may not end up being elite in any one aspect but could be a very well rounded C for years to come. Him pairing up with Lauri will be interesting to watch. Lavine has been good at shot making, but he really needs to be a better ball handler and distributor if he's going to be a #1 option (which I dont think he should be) Hutch/Arci has been great energy players off the bench, hope they could continue to grow into better role players or even starters, esp for Hutch. And now that Felicio is getting his burn again, maybe he plays his contract into tradeable? I would really hope so...
  18. I am in the camp that Sox have the resource to bid $300 mil +, and are interested in Manny, we're going to see a lot of these rumors from rival execs and even Manny's people. But I don't think they will end up pulling the trigger if the price gets to that point
  19. Ha, that's one thing on a lot of people's mind after ending the league leading the division again!
  20. Looking ahead, Giants and Niners seem like winnable games. Detroit is fading fast, both games are winnable, I also think we have a good shot of beating Rodgers at Soldier Field. So if we take care of business against the Giant and Niners, take 2 from Detroit. beat A-Rod, we'd most likely be a playoff team. It's not an easy task, but not unlikely either. At that point, the difference between a division winner and a WC team is how well we play against the Vikings.
  21. I hope all these early speculations of Sox being a serious contender isn't used to drive up bidding from Manny's preferred destination.
  22. Yea what got me was after that he was sobbing and had to cover himself with a towel for 2 mins before doing an interview because he never thought he could play like this again.
  23. Watching the end of the Twolves game it was one of the most emotional finishes you will see at a regular season game. Despite the things he said over the years, it was good to see Rose finding the fountain of youth for one night and reminding Chicago and the NBA what could have been.
