  1. Even though we spent the first 2 picks on hitters, I think we've accomplished the goal of restocking system with projectable arms in the mid rounds.
  2. I would think HS players with good hit tool and + on other tools would go early in the draft, and HS players with good hit tool but average on other tools will not be as projectable. So at this point you would hope to have players who are + on other tools and develop their hit tool.
  3. Did you read my original post? I said he needed more reps and seasoning after taking time off from defection and injuries, so the initial struggles stateside is expected. Chill the fuck out.
  4. He was 2-3 years older than some of the players over there while is the best prospect in that league. I dont remember his stat line but he definitely swung and missed more than he should in normal circumstances.
  5. He didn't exactly set the world on fire in DSL last year against inferior competition. I think he will need a lot more seasoning given how much development time he has lost.
  6. So we drafted a Keenyn Walker type player with a 7th round pick. That’s signs of having a good draft.
  7. I highly doubt that's a slot pick it's either a) the first 3 picks will command some over slot b) we are setting for a over slot pick later on. I am guessing it's A.
  8. It was a continuation of a game suspended from rainout.
  9. Yea, Lebron is great, but East is weak, and that's an understatement that I cannot say enough. Here's two shocking stats for you: 1. There has been exactly only 3 East players aside from Lebron who made All NBA 1st team in this DECADE. Howard 2x, and 1x for both D Rose and Noah. 2. And take a look at the East vs. West record since 99-00 below. East won more games vs West exactly ONCE in the last 18 years. That is an INSANE stat and speaks volume to how much better the competition is better in the West than East during that span. Then take a look at the head to head record in the 90's when Jordan suited up, East was the clearly the superior conference at the time. And yet people wondered why Lebron made the Finals every year but is only 3-5 so far (let's say he's 3-3 because he really didn't have a chance against he 07 Spurs and 17 Warriors). The dude sleep walks the weak competition in the East every year, but when he actually faces a good team from the West even when his team is at the same level or better than the other team, he's batting only .500. Yet he has suddenly became GOAT because of all the recency bias. What this means is Lebron would have trouble making the Finals every year had his team played in the superior conference. OTOH, MJ took his team to the Finals in a superior conference and never looked back. It's still shocking to me the guy won 6 championships without playing a game 7, and has only played in a game 7 for a whopping 3 times in his career.
  10. No one is saying Jordan had no help. But people saying Lebron has done so much with no help is not put context into the situation. This is the first time in over 10 years where Lebron made the finals without a stacked team. He did it against a pacers team who might not have been a playoff team in the west, and a depleted Celtics team. If we want to say Lebron, for the the time in over 10 years, beat the East without much help, let's put more context in there. In terms of getting the most out of the team, I think what James Harden did with the Rockets was more impressive, for example.
  11. I swear this board now has short term memories. Did we forget on the teams Lebron only won championships with Wade, Bosh, Kyrie and Love? All all stars or all NBA players. The 07 team and this 18 team is when he got to the Finals with a relatively weak team. But the competition he had this year in the East is historically bad, and it still took him multiple close game 7s to get here. I wouldn't same Jordan wouldn't have been able to do this. Granted, how good a fight Cavs put up against this Warriors team may sway my opinion.
  12. See my comment from the last page. It's not Lebron's fault but he just so happens to play in an era with the best floor spacing we have ever seen, as a result he enjoys the luxury of facing more 1-1 defense, more switches to weaker defensive players on defense, and way more efficient shooters to give him credit for assist. We will never know how Lebron would have fared in the Jordan era or visa versa, but facts are Jordan played in a era with less floor spacing (which gives MJ a huge leg up in these debates IMO), more double and triple teams, and more physical defense and still posted the best offensive stat line of all time per game wise (PPG, PER, WS, etc), so there is no doubt in my mind he is still GOAT. Lebron may be second or third now though.
  13. It was the comment that I originally responded to, which you responded to.
  14. Lebron was the best player on the court for every Final he lost in. So it’s also silly to say he would have won 6 rings had the Warriors not gotten in his way. Let’s also not forget that the 2015 Warriors was built organically and the 2016 team was a suspension away from beating Lebron as well. But sure, let’s blame it on super teams.
  15. Hating on a super team, but not the guy who started all this? Lebron would be sitting on 1 ring if it weren't for super teams.
  16. Lebron is playing in an era that favors super athletes. Seriously look at the spacing the guy gets to work with compared to when Jordan was trying to beat the Jordan rule. For fuck sake Lebron played half of the game with Curry on him because teams are afraid to do anything other than switching these days. If Jordan played with the spacing that we have in today's NBA, I have no doubt in my mind he would have average 40 points for at least 1 season.
  17. FACT: almost all pitchers who averages 92-93 could dial back to 95. You were just dead ass wrong.
  18. Very well played Ron, bully calling others bully. That's the WWE storyline you're putting to mockery right?
  19. I am impressed by the numbers Lebron put up in the playoffs, but I don't buy that taking this team to the Finals is the greatest feat of all time. The East is probably the weakest conference in recent memory. I can't remember a time where there's such a disparity of talent between East and West, not in the last 20 years. The conference was already significantly weaker than the West in the past 5-10 years lost Butler and George. Celtics sign Hayward but he was hurt all year, and Kyrie was done before the playoffs even started. If you squint your eyes, you could maybe see 3 top 10 players in this conference in Lebron, Giannis, and maybe Embiid. In the first round an upstart Pacers team lead by a single player who has been a written off before this year to a hard fought game 7. Lebron then faced a Raptors team that's been virtually the same team the past 4 years, led by 2 all stars and a bunch of role players and simply choked. In ECF this young Celtics team who no one gave them a chance to even get pass the first round after Kyrie got hurt also took them to a hard fought game 7 and Cavs pulled out simply because they're a lot more playoff experience than this young team. Was Lebron amazing in the playoffs? Absolutely. But the competition he faced to get to the Finals is extremely underwhelming.
  20. While your statement isn't false, it's also far from the truth. Good basketball players, team chemistry, and coaching wins championships. Having a team of good fantasy players is hardly a criteria. But then again, for the "simple-minded folks" whose only understanding of the league is through fantasy, I don't expect them to get it.
  21. Unfortunately you reasoning have failed you over and over again on this forum. You cited Celtics have a deep roster and implied it's because Rozier, Brown and Tatum are good in fantasy basketball. I am sure most posters here knew who those guys were by actually watching the playoffs, so if you reasoning is based on fantasy basketball then your opinion don't matter here. The bold part is just classic. I guess Giannis, AD, and Russ are winning championships this year, and the Spurs dynasty were full of elite fantasy players, oh wait...
  22. Huh?? So good fantasy basketball players will win championships IRL? You lost me right there.
  23. To have a higher BA than BABIP you generally need more HR and less K. My point being pitchers in TW’s era don’t strikeout guys at nearly the same rate today’s pitcher do, which generally leads to lower BABIP for hitters in his era. You almost don’t see BABIP lower than BA in the current era, let alone by 50 (which I agree is still a tremendous feat).
