QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 20, 2017 -> 09:26 AM) Jose Adolis Garcia. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=m...itting/2017/ALL 695 ops at Springfield, AA Texas League But he's also tight with Ynoa, who was one of his agent's first big international deals and part of the same intl signing group that produced Miguel Sano. If his connection with Ynoa swayed him toward the Sox, I will personally write Jeff Samardzija a thank you note for bringing us Robert.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 20, 2017 -> 01:51 AM) Collins has nearly the same identical numbers as last year in W-S. '16: 120 AB's 31 H 24 R 7 XBH 6 HR's 18 RBI's 33 BB 39 SO (.258/.418/.467/.885) '17: 120 AB's 27 H 23 R 6 XBH 6 HR's 20 RBI's 33 BB 37 SO (.225/.395/.433/.828) Meaning we now have enough sample size to evaluate his hit tool. He's obiously going to walk, how much he will hit in the upper levels when he's get promoted.

Love seeing he WBC form Q. Hoping he could keep this up for another 2 months.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 19, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) And if Wade comes back, unless Griffin wants to play for the Bulls at an exception not going to happen. The Bulls decided 8th seeds are fun. He'd have to take a discount to come here. I see a chance of leaving him LA after another first round exit, but not much of a chance taking a discount to come to the Bulls of all teams.
-
By keeping Jimmy and Wade staying, we're locked in for that 15-18th pick for the next couple years. With no decent pick in draft, no competent FO to get the most trade value out of Jimmy, Bulls are stuck in this purgatory for at least the next 5 years or so. Unless we sign Blake Griffin and a competent PG this summer, this team will not change its fortune.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ May 16, 2017 -> 05:00 PM) If not for Michael Jordan, they'd be the Cleveland Browns of the NBA. If not for Duncan and Pop, the San Antonio Spurs are the Chicago Cubs of the NBA. Such a silly statement to make.

QUOTE (almagest @ May 16, 2017 -> 10:46 AM) Mid-90s on the fastball. Haven't seen a change or slider but the video quality isn't good so it's hard to tell what is what. He is SUPER slow to the plate and Rome is trying to run all over him. Adolfo 0-3 2 Ks Thanks. I wonder if he could work on shortening his motion. It's definitely not the first time he got ran all over.

QUOTE (almagest @ May 16, 2017 -> 10:04 AM) Hansen has a big bender of a curveball. Attacking with the fastball (lots of foul balls) and tries to put 'em away with the curve. Nice info. What's his velocity? Does he use his changeup or slider much?

♪ Des pa cito Me llamo Lucas Giolito I throw my sliders right down the middle They hit it so far you have find it in Puerto Rico My fastballs miss the zone like Shaq misses his free throws If you want to see me pitch in Chicago You gotta wait, despacito ♪

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 11, 2017 -> 01:58 PM) I think they will definitely trade the veterans and let the kids play when they are ready. Just gotta trust the process So the Sox are the baseball version of the Sixers now? Lol I sure would like to see fans chanting trust the process every time Moncada comes up to bat.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 9, 2017 -> 09:17 AM) That's awesome. Rumors of any prospect's demise are usually just a bunch of shots fired into the sky. Except in the case of Courtney Hawkins.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2017 -> 08:12 PM) Lots of speculation by you here. Personally I just think his fastball is unplayable. No command and horrible spin rate (assuming it hasn't improved) He was the top pitching prospect in baseball as recent as 2 years ago and all of a sudden he couldn't command or spin the baseball. Mechanical changes aside, the results so far is far worse than you'd expect someone who has the TOR stuff and trying to revert back to similar to how he's pitched his whole life. This leads me to believe that he may be hurt and he doesn't even know it. I read a story on Mark Appel in the offseason on how he noticed something changed about his arm after he was drafted that affected his command and he didn't know what the issue was. It was only last year that he was diagnosed with a bone spur and had to have surgery to remove it. This is a bit of a different situation, but I'm not ruling out the possibility that Giolito might be hurt.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2017 -> 07:10 PM) Luebke started for CHA. Looks like Hansen's doing really well so far... 4/0//0/1/5 Dont jinx him.. It's cool to see him matching up with Riley Pint.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 5, 2017 -> 03:33 PM) I dont think vets are going to care about that. I think vets are going to care when his dad starts saying stupid s*** about how much better his son is. Lavarr already started a fight with Lebron. Lorenzo seems normal, Im not as in love with his game as some, and I thought it was funny when Fox took it to him in the NCAA tournament. Him (or his dad) putting out $500 shoes is essentially saying his brand is better or more special than the rest of the NBA, before even getting drafted. If that doesn't show arrogance, I don't think what does.

QUOTE (ron883 @ May 4, 2017 -> 12:45 AM) I love how people bump these threads when Jose goes on a hot streak. His hot streaks are followed by the inevitable awful cold streaks Jose goes on. When Jose goes cold, he goes COLD. The dude just isnt that great of a player. Any reason why you're not out trashing the likes of Anderson, Saladino, Frazier, Melky, Covey, they're having similar or worse starts than Jose, but a guy who is known to be a slow starter and is beginning to turn things around is getting trashed? Just stop it You need to free yourself from expectation that Jose is a superstar hitter. He is not. But despite his slow start last year, he has put up 2.6 bWAR and 1.8 fWAR last year therefore at least earning his salary. Sure, the league has "figured" him out, but he's still an above average hitter. There are of other underperformers to blame, but he isn't one of them. He shouldn't be the best hitter on a PO team, but that's not his fault.

All I know is the kid is not going to make any friends in the NBA dropping a $500 shoe before even playing a minute. It definitely could rub a lot of vets and stars the wrong way.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 5, 2017 -> 10:24 AM) They are going all out for Robert. This has been reported by multiple outlets. I will believe it when I see it. I am sure they're in the running, but will most likely end up getting outbid and signing a bunch of lower ranked kids as a fallback. I hope I'm wrong here but I think that's how it will play out. -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 5, 2017 -> 10:10 AM) Yeah if they don't sign Robert and have no commitments in the next signing period, it'd almost seem like they have to sign Otani. This is the White Sox we're talking about. They'd just as happy to sign a bunch of kids in the top 30-100 range and hope more than a few of them breakout. In fact I'd say 70% chance they go that route, 20% go all out for Robert, and 10% for Otani. -

Don Cooper trade value going up, we should be able to get a nice haul for him in the off season. -
Amidst all the talk of Moncada and the starting pitchers, Burdi has fell off the radar a bit around here. Whenever Robertson and/or Jones are traded, he should be up getting a chance at 8th inning duties or closing.

So it doesn't look like Brock will defend the Universal title until the Great Balls of Fire PPV (like wtf is with the name), and he will likely hold the title for a full year until possibly dropping it to Reigns in WM 34. If the rumors are true, it's a damn shame. We've seen the same crap already in 2015, and I can't stress how much I (and many others) hate seeing two two main eventing WM again and clogging the title picture for a whole year. -
