  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 05:42 PM) By the way, both the Celtics and Bulls beat writers are saying Woj's report of the Celtics offering both Nets picks is false. I think my own report is more accurate...which is that the Bulls barely even talked to the Celtics about Butler and all conversations were driven by Ainge wanting Butler and not the Bulls wanting to move Jimmy. Lots of Bulls people (and even other legit NBA reports (and Woj is the best...just not at covering the Bulls)) indicated the Bulls had made it very clear over the past couple days that Jimmy was not on the market. If teams wanted to call, they were welcome to do so, but the Bulls were not actively shopping him. On the drive home listening to Waddle & Silvy, the belief around the league is Bulls haven't figured out what they want to do with Butler, meaning they haven't figured out if they want to compete or rebuild. They simply engage in trade talks to see what Butler's value was, but with no real intention of trading him.
  2. f***ing idiots part#2. We've been targeting Okafor all along when it costed peanuts to get a deal done for Noel. The fact that this team failed to see who the better and more valuable player is going forward, shame on them.
  3. f***ing idiots. We made a trade for the sake of making a trade. All 3 guys we got back are bench players, not very good ones at that. I have zero faith we could develop Payne into a starter level PG. I also hate throwing away second round picks in this day and age. There are plenty of hidden gems overseas that aren't drafted in the first round because teams want to play it safe, but gets drafted in second round and develops into nice players.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 08:48 AM) That's true. Goldberg/Brock could tell a good story but Goldberg doing anything over 10 minutes could be bad. Don't understand the thinking of booking Cena and Styles the way they will. And you know Cena has final say in his match so he's partly to blame. I have no problem with Cena vs Miz for WM. Remember when we were all tired of seeing Super Cena in the title scene? Now he's not going into WM as the champ and people are still not happy. I get that him dropping the belt after 2 weeks is silly booking, but Cena vs Miz at WM itself isn't a bad match, especially if Cena puts Miz over, and Miz moves on to the title scene soon after. We're still 5 weeks away from WM, I expect the feud to heat up in next week's show. It should be some great promos between those 2.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 09:18 AM) Crowder has been a stud, but if they got Jimmy it's not like he'd get a ton of minutes. I doubt this report is true. I assume the issue is how many 1st rounders the Bulls get and the inclusion of Brown. Crowder's 27 soon and would never be a reason a Jimmy deal did not go down. Crowder would be a good role player for a contender. But if we're trading Jimmy, we're rebuilding. Crowder should not be the primary or secondary option for a rebuilding team. I'd rather get an extra first round pick than to be getting caught up on Crowder.
  6. So apparently this happened after Raw went off air tonight. Thought something was going to come out of it. https://www.google.com/amp/uproxx.com/prowr.../?client=safari
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) I presume the Kings must have some ridiculous internal scouting reports on the players they got...but man it makes no sense and I agree with you. I saw it and literally was like, geeze, we could have made this deal. Even if that's the case, take what J4L posted for instance QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) I'm listening to espn 1000. Hearing A LOT of GMs are PISSED. They had no idea it would take so little to get a top 8 player in the game. The Wizards for example could've given up Otto Porter+ that would've been better than what the Pelicans gave up. The only player with upside they got back is Hield. If they have some sort of inside intel on Hield, the package is still very weak by industry standards. If they field a couple more offers from others teams, they could drive a bidding war and it forces NOLA to put a better package around Hield to match other teams. The fact that they failed to do that shows a lack of competency, maybe there's something else going on behind doors that we don't know, but still it's a failure. We know that this is a superstars league. I'm just disgusted at the fact that a hapless franchise, who is within reaching distance of a playoff spot for a change, just traded away a superstar for half of what he's worth and sealed their fate as the bottom dweller in the West for the next 5-7 years.
  8. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 07:47 AM) Contract the Kings. That's abysmal. Probably 20 teams can top that easily, so I can't blame any single one for underestimating the stupidity of the Kings. One other thing I haven't really seen mentioned: Philly can swap picks with the Kings this year. Without Boogie, they're basically a D-League team. Even if they don't end up worse than Philly, it's like the Sixers get two solid shots at the top-3. The Kings should just hire Hinkie since they already did step 1. If Philly swaps with Kings, and their pick is outside of top 10, do we in turn get that pick?
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 11:17 PM) D-rob was past his prime by the time he and Duncan got together. This is crazy. Warriors fans everywhere are shook. They want no part of the Pelicans in round 1. Their size and versatility skillwise would give GSW a lot of trouble. But their wing depth is god awful. Let's see if they still have a move or two left in them to make a run this year. Maybe they could get some of the vets to sign for minimum. But this is exactly the type of move you need to make to get out of NBA hell.
  10. Yep, that's a nasty combination who can do it all. Would rival the Spurs twin tower duo for sure.
  11. Boogie Cousins to Pelicans for an underwhelming package. NOLA came out a winner this weekend.
  12. I haven't paid attention to the Nets this year so missed on Lopez. It's crazy how these big men, Cousins, Gasol, Millsap, and Lopez to name a few, out of nowhere suddenly became legit 3 point threats.
  13. Can we add that super dope Guaranteed Rate logo next to Dunn?
  14. As long as you can run the floor, finish around the rim, and play good defense, you aren't extinct in today's NBA, you just won't be the focal point of the offense like you would be 10-20 years ago. Check Dwight Howard, he is in that mold as well, he's still a strong contributor for the Hawks this year by doing just that.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 02:36 PM) I'm curious what player under the age of thirty is like this. Andre Drummond? These guys are going extinct if they aren't already. Bigs are now asked to stretch the floor. DeAndre Jordan and Rudy Gobert. Whiteside to some extent, although he has developed a solid mid range jumper over last few years. These are very valuable players in today's league. Noel isn't at their caliber, but he certainly has the upside to grow into one. (Remember the path Whiteside took to get to where he is today) Joakim is not a good comparison to Noel. Noel is a much better finisher inside, he's averaging 18 points per 40 and shooting 61% right now, Joe never came close to those numbers. The players you're describing as extinct are in the mold of Al Jefferson, Nikola Vucevic, Brooke Lopez, Enes Kanter, Okafor etc. Players who play on the low post and can't stretch the floor, could easily be shut down by the quicker and strong players like Lebron or Draymond or the modern day team defense. These players are immobile and are huge liabilities on defense, gets exposed when other team plays small ball. Noel doesn't fit that description.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 12:26 PM) Pump the breaks, yo. Nerlens Noel is a dinosaur in today's NBA. His kind is extinct. Embiid is awesome, but he's basically DeMarcus Cousins 2.0. Simmons would be a rookie PG this year. Challenging LeBron and Co? Not so much. J4L is right, I don't see how Noel, being the Tyson Chandler/Marcus Camby type player, is extinct in today's NBA. I hope he eventually learns to play next to Embiid, the tandem would be nasty on defense. If by DeMarcus Cousins 2.0, you meant that Embiid could be a monster scorer and rebounder like Cousins while actually being a defensive anchor, then you're right. If 2 years, if the Sixers core could stay healthy and continue to develop, they could be really, really good, maybe even best in the East. But until then, you just have to #trusttheprocess.
  17. Oh I'm sure J4L has words to describe beyond generational talent in his dictionary.
  18. What a game by Nikola Jokic last night against the Warriors. This kid is going to be a household name very soon (would have been if he plays for the Knicks), he's easily a better player right now than Porizingis. Only 21 years old, and there is nothing he cannot do on the offensive end.
  19. I don't get the whole Charlotte defending her title on Raw thing, it's obvious WWE wants to protect her PPV streak, so it's becoming that anytime that title is defended on Raw, it's going to change hands. Bayley and Charlotte started feuding since Surivor Series, and Charlotte has been the champ for most of the last 18 months. We're still a whole 7 weeks from WM. Running the same Bayley and Charlotte angle week in and week out until then gets old fast. Maybe this is a move to get the belt off Charlotte and start the Bayley Sasha feud early in time for WM. Of course, if they play hot potato again with the belt at Fast Lane, then the title itself would become the most worthless thing ever, and WWE's only interest in giving Bayley the belt tonight is so she could have a homecoming next week with the belt.
  20. I wouldnt mind getting Okafor, he is a better piece to have than Lopez, Taj, or Niko in the long term. M Okafor isn't a bad player in the right system. He needs to play with a stretch 4, but Sixers constantly played him with Noel last season made him look lost out there offensively and defensively. I think he has made some improvements this year, and in a good system he could be a better all around version of Enes Kanter.
  21. 89-74 with a wildcard birth Frazier, Abreu and Shields all regain forms from 2 years ago Q and Rodon take another step forward Tilson has a better than expected rookie season Robertson stops blowing saves Moncada gets called up in June and tear s*** up
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 09:34 AM) Bulls fans are sheep. They are #1 in attendance. This was interesting from Chad Ford's mock draft though: 17. Chicago Bulls Jarrett Allen Texas Freshman Center The Bulls are a mess and the rumblings that there could be major changes to the front office and team this summer appear well-founded. Trying to discern what's next for them, given the team chaos, is difficult. Allen is a project, but an intriguing one. His defense is ahead of his offense right now, but over the course of the past few weeks he has been making major offensive strides as well. He seems to be coming on at the right time and could be a nice backup to Robin Lopez for the next year or two while he adds strength and experience. Yep, most of the crowd at Bulls games are the same people who showed at Wrigley year after year.
  23. Fans need to boycott Bulls games until one or both of them are fired. Talk about being unqualified for the job and underperforming.
  24. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 3, 2017 -> 06:31 AM) Current rumor is moving Joe to Smackdown to feud with Cena. Who knows if that'll happen or not, but it appears to be being discussed. Reading Seth's latest tweets, it looks like he wants to return in time for WM to face Triple H. I honestly think they should have sent Joe to SD to begin with, especially with Naka staying in NXT for a while.
  25. I've been living under a rock and only found out about the Rollins news earlier today. I'm a bit sadden by this, I was hoping Seth would become the guy on Raw after Punk left and DB retired. My thoughts on the aftermath: - It's extremely ironic that the angle is built on Triple H losing trust on Rollins after his injury, when the time finally comes for confrontation, Seth reinjures himself right away. - I think we've seen the last of Seth Rollins as a main eventer, at least for a couple years until he proves himself again. He's already been passed by Finn, KO and Reigns as the face of Raw since his return. In ring-wise, he's also cut back the high flying moves from his arsenal since his return , no longer doing Phoenix Splash or the over the top rope dive outside the ring. The latest injury could limit his movesets even more. - Rewatched the spot that supposedly blew out Seth's knee, I've seen the Coquina Clutch many times before but that was definitely a more reckless attempt at the move. Rollins was still turning from side to side to escape and Joe pulled him down with full force before Rollins gained center of gravity. - Not sure where they go with Joe and Triple H now for the next two PPV's.
