Our pitchers arent doing that bad of a job. We’re just not scoring runs. That has something to do with the players we have injured. The bottom half of the order is pretty weak right now but that can change if we can get Engel back and make some minor tweaks to the lineup.
I would rather they experience the injuries now than later in the season. The West Coast has never been kind to the Sox anyways even when we had some really good teams.
The Sox are going to have a log jam in a couple years. Your going to have Yoelqui Cespedes, Oscar Colas, Andrew Vaughn, and Eloy Jimenez playing for two outfield spots and one DH spot. One of them is going to have to benched or possibly traded.
Maybe we’ll be ok with just Engel, Robert and Eaton until the trade deadline. We just give up quite a bit of production on offense for better defense in the outfield with Engel. We can’t afford anymore injuries though.
