When Katz never mentioned Dunning’s name in the interview with Parkins, right than I had a gut feeling that he was going to be traded. You just kind of got the sense of who Katz was excited to be working with, etc.
NSC, ACB and Portillos deserve props for calling this but we should all give props to Harold as well. He was the one that said that Texas was trying to include their World Series hero (Andrus) in the deal which most likely would’ve netted us Gallo as well but as we all know now that part of the deal fell through. This all ended up being legit.
I agree. I don’t get all the complaining. We just acquired a number 2 starter for someone that we don’t know where he’s going to be a couple years from now. His value was already high as is.
We didn’t burn the farm system down. Relax! Dunning didn’t prove anything except for a winning record down the stretch but could he put that all together for a whole season while also being a workhorse in the playoffs is the question? We don’t know the answer to the first part of the question but in a likelyhood probably not but him lasting only an inning in the playoffs even though it was a bad managerial decision on RR’s part answers the second part of the question so we had to pull the trigger.
The Sox made a mistake calling Stiever up that early. He didn’t pitch all that great. He settled down but he still struggled. His value right now is low and not many teams are going to want him.
Quite a bit of smoke out there right now between the food burner accounts, club beat writers, some national writers, etc. Hopefully we start seeing some moves happen soon.
Can you imagine how Soxtalk would be if non of the top free agents or any of the known names are not signed until April or May? Only speculation all winter. Lol ?
I’m not saying that he is definitely going to sign there or not. Just stating a fact that his brother is a hitting instructor or coach for one of the minor league teams and it’s a possibility he may sign with the Cardinals.
