I understand that but outside of Giolito and a Kuechel who do we have that can be plugged into the rotation as a TOR starter now that will dominate a playoff game? Kopech/Cease/Dunning? All three of these guys haven’t proven that yet.

I would have to imagine this would push Ozuna to the AL as well.

Lynn can be plugged into the number two spot though. He’s a workhorse and eats up innings. This team needs someone like that, that will take the pressure off the bullpen.

That’s the thing, usually the player that isn't discussed as a possibility for them as much is usually the one they sign. They thrive under stealth mode. That’s just the way they have operated for years.

We offered Machado a 9 digit offer in 2019 and Wheeler a 9 digit offer last year.

I’m fine with this. It would’ve been nice to sign him but he’s more of a luxury. We really don’t need to make a huge splash for RF this year. All we really need is someone that can play the position and a lefty that will hit for good numbers.

Ehhh there’s really no one after Bauer that’s a top of the rotation type of pitcher. If it doesn’t cost you that much than you make that trade 100 percent.

I agree, a move needs to happen asap.

Dunning had some quality starts for us last year no doubt but who knows if he can do that for a full season.

That’s not that much in return compared to what other teams have been asking from us.

I would include Dunning in a trade for Wheeler. Your not handicapping your future because you would still have pitching depth in the minors with Kopech, Stiever, Crochet, Kelley, Thompson and Dalquist.
