In all honesty, the Sox were better off not signing Rendon. It’s better to sign or trade for multiple pieces to build around a team than to give a ton of money to one player. Teams have a better chance winning championships that way.

If you guys expected us to sign Cole or Strasburg this year, your setting your hopes up way too much. Same for dishing out loads of money for a couple FA’s that are older and may very well be on there downslope of there careers. I just don’t get it.

It’s not a splashy move like a Castellanos or Ozuna but you get a LH power bat in the lineup that has untapped potential and a better defender than Castellanos and Ozuna at a cheaper cost. If it doesn’t work out for a year than you can always non tender him and go a different route without really losing much. I don’t get all the complaining.

This may be a good deal if Mazara can duplicate the season he had in 2017. That may be possible at GRF. However, this all depends on what we are giving up. A plus would be if a pitcher is coming back to us as well.

Next Year’s free agent class seems to align more to what the Sox are looking for and may be a bit better than this year’s class. I would wait it out and evaluate what you have in house this year and go after it next offseason. I know I may take some heat for this but I really do think the team may be better off waiting for next offseason instead of spending the money on what’s left in free agency this year. Anyways we have one of the best catchers in the league behind the plate now and you would have to imagine that a lot of our pitchers numbers will improve this upcoming season.

What was everyone expecting Hahn to say. “Oh we just signed Marcell Ozuna!” The GM isn’t going to come out and flat out say that. If he did quite possibly he would lose out on the deal or the upper hand at the negotiating table.

I have a question for everyone to think about, if you were to choose between Marcell Ozuna or Kole Calhoun, which player would you chose if you were the GM of the Sox and why? I’m just interested in hearing everyone’s take on this.

After reading all the tweets and reports something isn’t adding up. It may be that Ozuna’s side doesn’t want to leak anything until it becomes official hence why the media and all these insiders don’t know anything about it yet. Nobody from Ozuna’s side is telling them anything so they have no choice to say nothing is imminent or the reports from DR are false. Who knows.

We’ll find out tomorrow or in the next couple days one way or another.

I agree, I would only sign him as a DH. He has that look and confidence as a hitter.
