Maybe that’s why the Sox aren’t active right now. Maybe they strongly feel that their actual targets aren’t going to be signed today so they are just concentrating on trying to unload Kimbrel first and than go after their targets in FA?
Yeah I’m not going to overreact but it’s going to be a big disappointment if they don’t do anything and just stay pat especially with all the insiders and projections saying they were going to be aggressive this offseason and the payroll is going to be close to $190-$200 million but plenty of offseason left to add some players. If they don’t do anything Rick Hahn definitely has some explaining to do but we’ll get to that when the time comes.
You know what is disturbing. We haven’t even addressed any of our needs yet except adding a reliever. We’re basically going to go into next season with the same team minus possibly Kimbrel, and García and Hernandez. No improvements.
Yeah I have no idea what they’re doing or what their plan is. They are a team with WS aspirations but they are acting like a team that’s in the beginning phases of a rebuild.
