Yes I agree that Hahn should’ve acquired help at the deadline. He failed miserably but where would this team be now if mostly everyone stayed healthy and they performed to their talent level? The staying healthy part also includes staying in shape. Many of the players seemed to be out of shape. If all of that was kept to a minimum at least, would this team be Central division champs, a wild card team?

It was a disaster of a season. Partly because of injuries and partly because of the manager. TLR made way too many bonehead decisions and wasn’t the energy this team needed. They need to hire a manager that has some energy and that will stay alert in the dugout. The team looked like it was sleepwalking through most of the games.

The whole coaching staff is most likely be gone including Katz. Usually the new manager wants his own personnel. If Katz is gone Gio will probably be traded as well.

Dave Martinez would fit that bill but he played for the Sox from 95-97. However, I don’t know if that would mean much because it’s been so long since he was part of the organization. He also has ties with the TB organization which is a big plus. I would still prefer someone with no ties to the organization .

They should hire someone with big league experience, playoff experience, based on the position he played in the big leagues, how he can relate to the players, etc. I know most of this was the criteria when TLR was hired but the key is the position he played in the big leagues. Catchers can see the whole game and it transitions well to being a big league manager. Bochy fits all that. Either Hinch or Bochy should’ve been the hire back in 2021 instead of TLR. Hire Jirschele to be the bench coach to learn under Bochy to gain experience. If not Bochy than they should just go young and hire Granderson or try prying Quatraro away from TB. Either way hire someone that doesn’t have ties to the Sox.

This makes sense with the tweet below. Sounds like maybe Hahn and KW want TLR out as manager but JR wants to keep him as manager so since JR wants to keeps him and he’s the owner he will overrule them. Messy situation if you ask me.

I don’t know how they can bring back TLR after all this. That would be a major slap in the face to the fanbase.

I know but he’s going to be given another chance and screw it up again this offseason. Hopefully that will be the last straw and he’s gone next year.

The Sox need to start making some changes to leadership. First TLR needs to retire. Second, KW needs to go. Give Hahn one more chance to hire a manager and retool this team but that’s it. I don’t trust him in making the right decisions but his hands have sort of been tied in this whole thing. Bruce Bochy would be better than TLR quite frankly even though he’s up there in age as well. The only way they can hire Hinch away from Detroit is if he’s let go from whoever they bring in as the new GM. Third, they need to start hiring some leadership and analytics and scouting personnel from outside the organization preferably from the TB organization.
