  1. Maybe our trash is the Marlin's treasure? Sox would provide the salary relief of Pederson so the Marlins don't have too. Both Pederson and Realmuto make about the same heading into 2019. All the fringe guys on the Sox are instant starters on the Marlins. Maybe LA doesn't have to give up as much, plus the Sox are in a small roster crunch if/when Manny signs. Not that I think these guys should be moved, but I'm referring players like Sanchez, Rondon, Engel, Palka, Delmonico, Cordell, etc (+ something of legitimate value from LA). Maybe the Marlins like Fulmer and Bummer, who were originally mentioned in the rumor? Just spit-ballin' but the salaries work out pretty well, just would depend on what goes to the Marlins.
  2. Nate Nolan? Are they serious? Not only have I never heard of this guy, but his stats are abysmal. Is this guy 100% glove? I would have expected them to bring in another vet with a little MLB experience.
  3. I think your right. Wonder if it could be a 3-way with the Marlins with Realmuto going to LA?
  4. I seem to remember last year it was released that Wednesday or Thursday.
  5. Man, I don’t know if this silence is a good thing or bad thing. Wish this saga would end already.
  6. This offseason has been one of the most stressful yet boring I’ve ever seen.
  7. Yea you trade trade him when his value is this low. He’s a mess, but you have to see if he can bounce back to how he was in 2017. I do doubt his ability to remain a SP though.
  8. We haven’t heard any of those names are the ones included in the talks, and I wouldn’t make the trade if it requires one of the Sox big name prospects. It seems like he may be able to be had for pieces that are either replaceable or not detrimental to the rebuild. If that’s the case then I don’t see why anyone would be against landing him two years of control or not. I would not stop myself from acquiring him simple because the Sox have a glut of OF prospects. Worry about them as they progress.
  9. But it’s ok to assume Basabe, Robert, Rutherford, Gonzalez, Walker, etc. are all going to be knocking on the door? I keep seeing these guy get mentioned as if it’s a shoe in, but we have no idea what the OF situation will look like until we get there. You could play this guessing game forever.
  10. Why is it being automatically being assumed the Sox would only keep Pederson for 2 years? There’s a possibility he could be here longer. Not every prospect is going to hit. He’s young enough they could keep him around with an extension if they need to out of necessity.
  11. Sign me up for Joc. Sox are going to need to clear 40-man space for Machado anyways, so they might as well try to package 2 guys and upgrade an area if need. They should have a good idea for some of the guys currently on the roster that don’t fit or are expendable. If he can be had for guys like Bummer and Fulmer, it makes sense because neither guy seems to have a place or be in the Sox long term plans.
  12. Figure out a way to keep Engel batting 9th? He's equivalent to a pitcher, right? Hahaha
  13. It is a Sunday as well. When's the last time a move was announced on a Sunday?
  14. I find it funny how he probably has this from his mom, but if that's the case, wouldn't she want to be the one to break this? I would think at some point people in the industry would stop telling her scoop if her son just runs to twitter and spills it over the internet every time.
  15. I doubt this has anything to do with Machado and is simply coincidence. Pederson is a good player and immediately become the best OF'er on the Sox. This looks like a baseball move.
  16. Gonzalez is a very solid player. I would not be surprised at all if he’s a starter in CF or RF in a few years.
  17. This exactly. If Jay helps get Machado to sign here. The argument becomes Jay & Machado > Avi. Hands down.
  18. It really isn't. 1B/DH is the one spot the Sox have one too many guys. I don't know if I see them moving him though. He's a valued clubhouse guy and nice to have around for Moncada.
  19. It would make sense for the Sox to absorb most of Hill's contract, get Pederson and trade away smaller pieces like Fulmer and Bummer. Depends if the Dodgers would go for that. I also wonder if Sanchez or Rondon are in play. Manny is going to force one of them out and Rondon doesn't have any options remaining. Better to move one and get something as opposed to losing them on the wire.
