  1. Excellent news if true. Next week is going to be nuts.
  2. I think it’s just his opinion. He usually drops the ? when he finds something out.
  3. That seems like quite a confident statement from Bob. I wonder if this is to try to put an end to the stalemate that seems to be going on between the Sox and Machado.
  4. Minaya is out of options. Unless he completely implodes in ST, he's going to be a lock. That always leans in a player's favor. Doesn't mean they won't be quick to cut him, but he will not be up/down over the course of the season. Going to go with: CP - Colome SU - Herrera SU - Fry MR - Jones MR - Hamilton MR - Minaya MR - Frare LR - Covey I absolutely believe they are going with 13 pitchers again. Banuelos as the 5th starter to start the year.
  5. How can you write off a guy who hasn't even played above A-ball let alone a full season? Fulmer - ok, there's an argument there. Even Collins you could say has been disappointing (but there are plenty of things to like there too). But Burger hasn't even had a chance to show what he's capable yet in a full season.
  6. Has literally nothing been said regarding the Phillies meeting with Harper? Dead silence?
  7. Keuchel seems like the type of pitcher that would really benefit moving into the NL. For what he's asking for I hope the Sox stay away.
  8. Yes. They need to get this deal done. No excuse.
  9. "who would love to make one more signing" Troll much Bob? Wonder who he could be referring to.
  10. That or we've all been stuck in this thread for so long we're beginning to evolve.
  11. This is correct. Millar reasoned the Phillies are a better team, while Rose said the Sox division essentially sucks for the foreseeable future.
  12. I don’t see how the Dodgers can be a serious player for Harper. Even with cash coming with him this is going to put them even closer to the luxury tax.
  13. Gonzalez must be asking for a lot. Only argument I could see against him is he’s not as good as a fielder than LeMehieu
  14. Certainly seems that way. That’s a lot of infielders to find playing time for.
  15. Nope. He did say he was open to moving earlier in the offseason if that’s what the team wanted, but what player wouldn’t say that? I do t like the idea of him moving off SS. He’s shown a lot of improvement.
  16. You would think (and hope). Really wish the Sox would just open up the checkbook and get this over with. With the Phillies signing, I starting to think the Sox going out and getting Alonso and Jay was done closer to a whim than knowing how it would influence Manny. Makes me nervous, but I’d still go Sox as the favorite right now.
  17. Yeah, I think we are looking at another week of this easy.
  18. Man, they don’t even try anymore. Shit website gets even shittier.
  19. And that left handed bat fits much better in their lineup. He actually is the better fit for them.
  20. But a MUCH tougher division. Phillies might be a better team, but the Braves are upcoming, the Nats are as strong as ever, and the Mets have made some solid improvements. The AL Central is only going to get weaker as the Sox start to get better. He could have sustained success on the South Side.
  21. Say what you want about Hahn going out and getting Alonso and Jay, and how laughable the Sox would look if Machado went elsewhere - at least they will be in the field contributing. The Phillies just went out and got a coach for 1 hypothetical player on a squad of 25 guys. That is crazy. Can't lose the faith now. Lock him up and get it done Hahn!
