  1. I believe Eloy's arm is questionable/mediocre. Avi has a cannon. Probably why Eloy doesn't profile for RF anymore.
  2. Great listen, A+ interview. Really thought out interesting questions and a much needed break from the Harpchado madness.
  3. He had FB velocity drop? I was unaware of that. Thought his stats were due to injuries he had last year. That's a little more problematic. Ottavino must be asking for the moon.
  4. Yea, I believe so. But isn't that a different situation? Hermanson's back exploded and Takatsu was toast. Sox didn't really have a choice other than closer by committee and Jenks ran away with it.
  5. Herrera wouldn't be a terrible signing, but his massive drop in K/9 is a little alarming. Still only 29 though.
  6. I'd be fine with it if it is reasonable. He has some red flags, but it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. Edit: NVM. I didn't realize he has a qualifying offer attached to him. Screw that.
  7. So we’re a bunch of assholes because we got excited about a Machado rumor? What does the LA D-bag think of the Yankee fans that were ready to burn down the damn city with their negativity? They assholes too?
  8. Colome is 3 years younger and theoretically has much more left in the tank. I think it comes down to if you think a 33 year old Ottavino had a career year or finally figured it out. Ottavino would be a riskier move. Despite that, I still want him, hahahah
  9. If you were about to board a plane to sign a $200-300M deal, you would’t be flying coach. What a weird attempt for attention from a random twitter guy.
  10. Yep, Lorenzo attempting to get higher bids seems more realistic.
  11. I doubt David Robertson was the sole person responsible for not dishing out the shares. Why are none of the other players being held accountable? Were they not a part of the decision as well? Really seems like the team was trying to get back at some of the staff by sticking it to them.
  12. I think you are right. Wouldn’t be surprised. He’s been known to do that.
  13. Weird. That seems complete opposite of what I would have expected out of him. At his first Sox Fest appearance shortly after he signed, he bought a kid a Sox jersey. Seemed like a class act. There has to be something more to this than one player holding court over where the shares went.
  14. Yep. I think people also need to remember WSD is also a homer fan, so he is going to be very positive towards their chances, but I do think he has legit sources. I’ll take it either way! Same with Bucket. When he opens his mouth, you best listen.
  15. They both help the Sox equally, just in different ways. Sox absolutely have a glaring hole at 3B, but if they locked up Harper, there’s nothing stopping them from moving the minor league OF depth in some prospect for prospect swaps.
  16. Possibly, but the Knights have a hole at 3B as well. I know Peterson has played there in the past, not sure about last year. Seems like the same Leonard signing last year. No big deal.
  17. Usually I save this to get me through my boring job, but I’ll let you know in a bit.
  18. Didi’s also much more valuable to the Yankees than anyone else IMO. His left handed bat plays up in that stadium with the RF porch. I wonder what his SLG% is outside that park. I’d bet it’s lower.
  19. Harper taking a short term deal would really negatively impact future free agents. We’ve already seen the market completely shift focus on older players past their prime. If a 26 yr. old can’t get a record deal, the MLBPA will have an aneurysm.
  20. I know some have mixed feelings about WSD, but check the end of this article out: https://www.barstoolsports.com/chicago/sources-me-troy-tulowitzki-signs-1-year-deal-with-yankees/ Says he has has more #scoopcity info later today. Might be nothing or completely unrelated to Machado, but could be interesting nonetheless.
  21. I don’t think the Yankees signing Tulo removes them at all from the Manny sweepstakes, but this is a bit interesting in what they have essentially done to their offer to him. General consensus seems to be that Tulo was promised the starting SS gig until Didi returns. That pretty much removes the option for Manny to play SS with the Yankees. I would have considered that the only other plus for the Yankees in what they have to offer compared to the Sox. Now it seemingly comes down to the question “do you want to be a Yankee - yes or no?” Almost feels like the Yankees are trying to low-ball Machado and force him to their terms. Although, being paid the MLB minimum, Tulo could be released before ST ends if the Yankees don’t like what they see, making all this null and void. Very little risk for them.
  22. Yep. At 8/$280M - that's around $35M per year. Even at $40M, I don't see how that would entice Machado away from the Yankees. And anything over $40M per year seems insane.
