Why is it being automatically being assumed the Sox would only keep Pederson for 2 years? There’s a possibility he could be here longer. Not every prospect is going to hit. He’s young enough they could keep him around with an extension if they need to out of necessity.

Sign me up for Joc. Sox are going to need to clear 40-man space for Machado anyways, so they might as well try to package 2 guys and upgrade an area if need. They should have a good idea for some of the guys currently on the roster that don’t fit or are expendable. If he can be had for guys like Bummer and Fulmer, it makes sense because neither guy seems to have a place or be in the Sox long term plans.

This is interesting. My guess is this is the alternative to Pollock?

I find it funny how he probably has this from his mom, but if that's the case, wouldn't she want to be the one to break this? I would think at some point people in the industry would stop telling her scoop if her son just runs to twitter and spills it over the internet every time.

I doubt this has anything to do with Machado and is simply coincidence. Pederson is a good player and immediately become the best OF'er on the Sox. This looks like a baseball move.

Gonzalez is a very solid player. I would not be surprised at all if he’s a starter in CF or RF in a few years.

This exactly. If Jay helps get Machado to sign here. The argument becomes Jay & Machado > Avi. Hands down.

It really isn't. 1B/DH is the one spot the Sox have one too many guys. I don't know if I see them moving him though. He's a valued clubhouse guy and nice to have around for Moncada.

It would make sense for the Sox to absorb most of Hill's contract, get Pederson and trade away smaller pieces like Fulmer and Bummer. Depends if the Dodgers would go for that. I also wonder if Sanchez or Rondon are in play. Manny is going to force one of them out and Rondon doesn't have any options remaining. Better to move one and get something as opposed to losing them on the wire.

Unless you lock in 3B for the next 10 years... Bush then becomes expendable theoretically, right? Looks like Pederson is a FA in 2021. He certainly is better than Engel, and by that time you'd hope one of Basabe, Robert, or Gonzalez can push him out of CF.

I don't see how any team would be jumping at the chance to sign a 30 yr. old Arenado with his home/away splits. I have no doubt he is a very talented hitter, but it's like a night and day difference. The guy simply belongs in Coors Field. I would be shocked if 29 of the other teams got the same production he gets currently for the Rockies.

It’s not for everyone. More a grind really if you’re an autograph seeker. The seminars can be really interesting if you aren’t.

As long as there isn't a way for Manny to opt out and walk away without the Sox doing anything, give him whatever he wants - just get him signed. It almost seems like the Sox giving him this type of deal signals they fully expect to be able to develop a good hitting core on their own. I can't foresee Manny completely falling apart or not having monster years at the G-Spot to make them want to get out of the deal.

I wonder the same thing, but if Vaughn's bat is as legit as they say, how can you pass on it? Sox could use a another bat like his in the system. Hate taking a 1B with the number 3 though.

That sucks. I've at least been where I'm at for 6 years. Company is totally imploding at this point though.

Usually a few weeks after the game drops. I haven't heard anything from Ridin' in a while, but that's usually standard. Sox are done. Right now I'm just working on extra guys for any potential releases after ST or unexpected trades at this point and fine tuning a few things with some of the pitchers.

Too bad we can't see a history of the title changes (or can you?)
