I don’t think it’s very realistic at all, and honestly I’m fine with that. Signing one or the other is a massive win for the offseason. Use the rest of the payroll space next offseason and co to use from there. Only other move I’d like to see is another starter added. Maybe get Gio on a 1 yr. deal or something.
This guy is such a douche. You think by now these players would realize when the spotlight is on you, stay the hell away from social media. Such a weird story.
Yep. Trying to get closer to $300M.
If... sorry, WHEN... the Sox pull this off. If it is for 7 years, do we still think there is going to be an opt out in there? Seems a little risky throwing one in there after year 4, and that's really the only logical place to put one on a "shorter" term deal.
Even if the Phillies go slightly more than the Sox, Alonso + Jay have to help make up for that right? Curiously, which city is better for taxes? Anyone know what the difference would be?
The more I think about it, this really makes no sense. Has to be a Boras plant.
1. He’s going to cost a draft pick, so a 1 year deal is pointless.
2. It completely removes you from going after Arenado or Rendon, both of whom are better players.
Yep. As a final offer I think that’s pretty solid. Can’t see the Yankees going anywhere even close to that amount. But will the Sox entertain that total? Because everything we’ve heard so far seems to imply they won’t.
