They would. Plus they have Puig, Kemp, Bellinger, Verdugo, Pederson, Hernandez, and Toles in the OF. They need to make a few moves. Didn't they say no figures were exchanged between Boras and all the Harper suitors? Seems like an incredible turn of events to all of a sudden put together the biggest FA contract overnight after traveling back from Vegas the day before. Calling BS on this.

But he said something I want to believe.... hahahaha
-
Agreed. This move should be a non-issue.
-
For all we know, he could be off the team by June 1 if Zavala bounces back at Charlotte. Nothing to get upset over when it’ll probably be a short lived deal.
-
But they went out and traded for Colome? I don’t know if I buy it. Although I really want Ottavino too, hahahaha

Rosenthal: Could Harper be headed to the southside

It’s possible, but I think it’s far more likely that was a part of a video. -

I don't think you put Sox jerseys on the Jordan statue and UC banner unless you are serious. -
All it takes is for one reliever to set the market and they should start a chain reaction.

They're one of the 4 teams Manny is meeting with personally. -

The longer this drags out, I start leaning to thinking the Sox are trying to get both of these guys. -
Same here. I thought they were trying to build their own pen with some of the arms in the minors. Guess they might not be as high on Hamilton, Burdi, Burr, etc. as we thought?

All the relievers!

That's interesting to hear. I would suspect that could only help the Sox. They would have the highest ranked farm out of all the teams going after him unless I'm mistaken. -

And now we wait. Fingers cross the stars align for the Sox and they land him. Would love to know which teams are officially in it. -

Can't wait to hear what nautical analogy Boras decides to use this time around. -
Heyman says White Sox interested in Nelson Cruz

I personally believe this is one of those rumors Hahn said was false regarding the Sox offseason plans. Please, please, please stay away from the 38 yr. old ticking time bomb. It's better to sell a year early than hold on a year too late. This guy will fall off the grid at some point - let that be another team's problem. -

I thought that was more hinting at the fact that Madrigal will eventually take over the position (not in 2019, but as soon as 2020 if all goes well for him). -
Yea, he is showing heavy decline the past two seasons. Was a great player a few years back, but he doesn't appear to have anything left in the tank.

Castillo the starter, Sox still looking to add

How about Caleb Jospeh? Had a down year in 2018, but I swear I recall hearing on a podcast he was a guy the Sox scouted but ultimately didn't draft (maybe Hostetler?). https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/caleb-joseph-on-the-maturation-process/ Slightly old article, but he seems like something the Sox need for the youngsters.
