Same here. I totally read this as he's bound to have another injury in the future. Guess we'll have to wait and see how he responds to the rest? Will patiently wait for ptact's take on all this.
Yeesh, not sure how to take that. He clearly realizes something is up after that pitch. Hopefully it isn't serious. Not the blow this organization needs right now.
Jose Rondon is shown as being listed on Charlotte's roster. Not sure if it is premature move by whoever updates the page. I would think this signals both Garcias are coming back tomorrow if it's legit.
Yea, Birmingham is getting a whole new team. There’s got to be a few more released to make room. They can’t possibly get away with using the inactive or phantom DL can they?
Just a thought regarding Adolfo since he may still be rehabbing his arm, but would it be a terrible ideal to maybe let him try out 1B for the remainder of the year? Seeing that typed out, I don't think I even like the sound of it, hahaha.
Everyone should revisit the Martinez trade from last season. He's arguably a better hitter and look at what he brought back. FA status or not, that is not an impressive return.
I was contemplating creating this very topic. Tilson for me. Engel is not a Major League quality player. Tilson is pretty fringe too IMO, but he's been outplaying Engel right now.
I still think Abreu is too valuable for the younger guys and I really don't want to see him traded for purely selfish reason. Having said that, no is absolutely off-limits. They'd have to get a killing return for him for major-league ready talent that's currently blocked. It also pretty much guarantees that the Sox must sign a big name FA. I can't see the Sox calling up all these young players with Davidson or Castillo being the veteran presence.
I've always wondered what it must be like in a family such as his. In one case, he is one of the few people to make it to the majors (but the worst among the best). On the other hand, his brother is carving out a very successful career. Family dinners must be awkward...
Yes, he deserves a shot to right the ship. He is still only 23 (almost 24).
Maybe I'm speaking for myself here, but I think people are more likely to flip their shit seeing an ERA in the 7's as opposed to a batting average hovering around .220-.230.
Endgame could be he ends up an arm in the pen. Luke Hochevar comes to mind as a guy who couldn't figure it out as a starter but had 3 very good years once moving to the pen.
As bad as the results have been, Gio has had some flashes of positivity in this start IMO. It's nice to see he's gotten the Tigers to swing through and miss a few bats. Still a massive work in progress though.
Is it me or is anyone having issues getting this to play? Tried playing it on my home commute and it kept restarting on my iPhone. Now my home mac isn't even showing it as an episode ?
Unless they are claiming a recent DFA candidate.
MELKY! j/k
Luke Jackson could be a possibility, but I think you're right this is more of a freeing up opportunity.
