  1. QUOTE (Green Line @ May 23, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) We've been getting a lot of 2 out hits this game! Sidenote: I've been at a couple games recently and have seen a HUGE amount of Cubs gear. Almost like being at a Cubs game. Yep, I saw that on Saturday. I don't get why people do that...
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) With Kahnle going down since he's the 26th man, are we really going to roll with a 3-man bench of Saladino/Sands/Avila with Johnson as an extra pitcher? Can he really be sent down tomorrow despite him not being the 26th DH guy? I did not think there were rules about sending a guy back down, only if you wanted to call him back up after sending him down?
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 56m56 minutes ago Matt Davidson is also having a great May at Triple-A Charlotte. He's hitting .357/.449/.667 w/ 3 HRs, 11 RBIs in 49 PAs. Also 6 BBs, 10 Ks. I wonder if he's maybe figured something out? I hate to get my hopes up he his slash line is very respectable so far this season.
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 7, 2016 -> 11:28 PM) http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Holy good god, Zangari strikes out a lot. Got to be over 33% of the time. EDIT: Actually, it's over 40%. Yeeesh. Yea, saying he's overmatched right now is an understatement.
  5. And Ishikawa is below the Mendoza line. Wonder how long he has before Delmonico takes his roster spot.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 2, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) AA had a late scratch for a starting pitcher as NSS. Maybe related to an organizational shake up? I hope not. Have you seen Brennan's stat line this year? Not sure if that's who you were suggesting, but Danks is actually a better option than he is right now.
  7. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 1, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) Hawkins has been on DL for almost three weeks now. Anybody here know his status? If I had to guess, it gotta be plantar fasciitis related. Didn't he struggle all last year with that?
  8. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 1, 2016 -> 09:17 AM) Delmonico's hitting. Not sure how much of a prospect he is, but I'd like to see him try AAA. Him and Hayes should really be swapped at this point.
  9. I can't believe how Sands has really shut up all of us who complained about him making the team. Guy has done a very nice job with the limited playing time he's received.
  10. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 1, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) I love Lawrie's attitude, enthusiasm and energy. Much better than the lifeless dead clubhouse last year. I was a big fan of acquiring Lawrie when the idea was just a rumor and like the trade even more now. This pretty much sums it up for me. His attitude is huge for me. It seems like the guy is always celebrating or reacting to every single play. Maybe I'll get sick of it after a while, but it's so nice to see a player who looks like they legitimately care. I don't see how anyone can really be upset with how he's produced either - extremely solid so far, especially hitting out of the 6th spot.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 07:44 PM) This game just has one of those bad "feels" to it. Just a bunch of dumb s#&t in order to lose. Not out of it yet. And they did manage to get 1 back, so not like last years lay down and die mentality.
  12. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 11:01 PM) DFA Danks and...eh? Eh? Hmmm? That would be a nice swan song for him, but something tells me it would be even worse than whatever Danks is putting up at the moment.
  13. Does Danks have a son? If so, does he want to start bringing him to the clubhouse? The Sox can easily fix this situation if the right pieces fall into place... Seriously though, Danks looks like toast. I highly doubt they will flat out release him at this point, but something needs to be done. Maybe they can call on a phantom injury and see what some combo of Gonzalez, Johnson, Beck, or Carroll can do in the meantime. Sox really need a traditional long man out of the pen to help the 5th spot out. I really don't see Danks being able to win more than 5 games if he stays in the rotation all year.
  14. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) What does everyone make of Zangari's start? Hit his 5th homer tonight, but has 41 K in 96 PA. Should we be happy that an 18-year old has a .216 ISO in A ball or worried that he's striking out like crazy? That site is pretty cool. I wish it was a little cleaner looking. I think the next few months will be telling if he can adjust to the competition level. He is walking around 8% of his AB's (higher than last year) so it's not like he's completely lost at the plate - I think overmatched.
  15. This one is out of left field, but what about the Marlin's Justin Bour? He's still fairly young, a LH power bat, and can be utilized in a platoon at DH. He did hit 23 HR's last year, but I have no clue how the Marlins view him as far as being available or not.
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) One was used in '12 and another in '14 so he had one left. He almost had 2 left; he spent 25 total days in the minors in 2014, 6 less days and it wouldn't have burned an option. Thanks for that. Crazy how all that works. I think it was his age that through me off. I guess I don't figure guys in their 30's to have options left.
  17. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) thought Gonzalez did not have any options. Just as confused as you are. Thought he was out as well. Webb is the definition of a AAAA pitcher.
  18. QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) The only thing I was missing about that Navarro homer was Hawks call of it. "That ball hit deep! He looks up! You can put it on the board, YES!" Instead, we got a silent moment. Don't get me wrong, I like Jason but I sure do miss Hawks home run calls. I'm sure he'll develop his own call. He knows you can't force that kind of stuff and it seems like he's trying to let it happen on his own. He'll never have anything close to Hawks call though.
  19. Wow, once Abreu gets going this lineup is starting to look pretty solid. Navarro is going to win himself a starting job if he keeps this up.
  20. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 06:01 PM) Looking like he will be headed to the DL. Is this the time to make 2 moves? Bring up Smith and Coats/Ishikawa? Gotta be at least Smith. Makes the most sense since he's already on the 40-man. Coats has been hot. Really deserves a look over Avi IMO, even though he probably is nothing more than a 4th OF'er/AAAA type player.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 06:45 AM) Gonzalez I believe has an option left meaning it's good for this season so I believe he could. Sidenote: are you the same CWSPALEHOSECWS that works on the OSFM rosters for MLB the show? The guy who does the White Sox portion? That would be me alright.
  22. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 18, 2016 -> 11:44 PM) I'd agree based on the Sox not wanting to mess with Charlotte's rotation but if they don't care about that might be Gonzales or Turner for possible long relief. Neither Gonzalez nor Turner can be sent back down if called up. I think it's likely to be one of Kahnle/Webb/Ynoa - all guys they can send back down in a few days.
  23. QUOTE (scs787 @ Apr 18, 2016 -> 09:52 PM) Has Volstad changed anything or is this just a veteran AAAA pitcher being a veteran AAAA pitcher. This. Can't see him contributing anything to the Sox this year.
