I’m more shocked he hasn’t opted out of his deal. His performance totally warrants a shot from someone.

I hate to even put this out there, but I don't like this idea, but I wonder if he was involved in the Salvador Perez discussions.

Rick Hahn addresses The Weekend
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is great. I don't believe a word Hahn says. Don't forget this guy is a lawyer first and foremost. I'd love to hear someone followup on the accountability question and ask Hahn to DEFINE what accountability means. They clearly don't have an understanding of how when you suck at your job, you deserve to get fired. -
Please no. I can't stand DeRosa. We did the whole unwritten rules/old school mentality with Tony. We don't need that crap again.

Keynan Middleton rips White Sox 'no rules' culture

Oh there are. Trust me on that. Hahn is a bigger scumbag than people realize. -

Who in their right mind quits a job with zero accountability for your actions? You can literally do anything you want. -
Keynan Middleton rips White Sox 'no rules' culture
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to maxjusttyped's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This report is nothing new to us, it’s great that it’s finally being aired out in public. Push this straight into the face of this FO and let them drown in their incompetence. The more lack of action this organization makes, the more asinine and moronic JR looks nationally. He deserves to be treated like the laughing stock of an owner that he is. -

Ramirez says, "Anderson disrespects the game..."

Wonder what Jose thinks of his teammate Josh Naylor then. -
I like this move. Kid had a ton of potential few years back. Maybe he can become a cheap option for next season.

He already pitched last week and was lit up.

Sox trade INTL $ to LAD for two RHPs

f*** these idiots. -
Me too. Goes from the contending Dodgers to this shitshow.

I don’t believe this. There is zero benefit or logic to keeping someone employed if you know you are going to fire someone. And if that’s how Jerry chooses to operate then he’s an even worse, brain-dead sack of meat than I thought before.

Hahns gets #4/5/7/11 prospects out of Top 40 traded
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Does anyone get the impression that the FO made it a focus to bring in more pitching this go-around than when the rebuild first began? It feels like there’s more SP options than last time. Maybe that’s because the farm already had some guys in Schultz, Mena, Cannon, Burke, and Thompson? -
Game Thread Palooza Day 1.....Cease vs Dunning
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to wegner's topic in 2023 Season in Review
They played with 25 players on the roster again. Couldn't even get another guy up tonight. -
Lambert got called up today, so there’s that. Sosa better be getting the next shot. Kid needs to play everyday consistently from here on out to see what they have in him. I’d like to see Grandal DFA, and let Lee start. Give Perez the 3rd catcher spot for September.

I believe any of the money saved with the trades essentially covers the raises to guys like TA, Eloy, Moncada, etc.

Grade Rick Hahn's Trade Deadline Performance
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I’ll give him a B. I still think he should be fired, but the value brought back was very good IMO. Would have been nice if he could have taken advantage of BAL in a Cease deal but the important pieces that needed to go, went and got back good value. Selling high on Burger was a good move. -
I don’t see how this kid will ever be more than a RP. The amount of time it would take to build him up, you’d be lucky to get 1 full season with him as a SP, and he can’t even remain healthy coming out of the bullpen.
-
Severino seems like a good buy-low guy they could target. There’s no chance this team competes next year, so add a couple guys on 1 year deals with the expectation that you can flip them at the deadline as Eder and Nastrini force their way into the rotation in the 2nd half (assuming everything goes right).

Absolutely love Burger, he’s a great person and was very fun to root for during one of the worst seasons I’ve endured as a fan. I’d urge everyone to look at 2021 Franmil Reyes and compare him to 2023 Jake Burger. One tool players can fade extremely fast. Sox ultimately made the right baseball move getting a potential future rotation anchor for him. This team is broken and needs better talent.
