  1. The bullpen is not good. As of right now, there will be 2 arms that haven't pitched above A-ball.
  2. Honestly depends on how many of the kids take another step in their sophomore year. Hopefully we don't see too many struggles or take a step back. Sox got lucky where pretty much everyone that debuted played pretty well. I feel like that's incredibly rare. They'd need Braden to hit the ground running too to help solidify an OF spot and Schultz would need to prove he's healthy and ready to be a big league pitcher. I still think this team is 90+ losses at the moment, but they should be at least 'fun bad' team as opposed to just bad and not worth watching.
  3. I would trade him. Getting Quero AB's is more important.
  4. If the season started tomorrow, I would roll with this: 2B - Meidroth (R) C - Teel (L) SS - Montgomery (L) CF - Robert (R) 1B - Murakami (L) 3B - Vargas (R) LF - Benintendi (L) DH - Quero (S) RF - Baldwin (S)
  5. His stuff is pretty mediocre. He's more in-line with Sugano's ability. Imai is definitely the better talent between the two coming over from the NPB.
  6. There's this post as well: The original report about him being terrible against velocity was incorrect.
  7. It's technically like a late 1st round talent. So there is real value there and it affects your bonus pool, which arguably is even a better value that the pick itself. There were rumors last year the Sox tried getting the Reds comp pick for Robert. I honestly don't know if Robert has that much value remaining unless the Sox absorb so salary in the deal.
  8. I think Robert is as good as gone, and Sosa wouldn't surprise me either.
  9. Disagree. Pointless to keep a guy who won't stay healthy and has a s%*# work ethic on this team. Cut ties and let him be someone else's problem even if that means Hill in CF. Re-allocate his salary into something more useful.
  10. This certainly is fun. I do wish they took more of a gamble and went with a little longer deal, because it's going to be hard to retain him if he ends up as good as some people think. Should be fun to watch him regardless. Nice to see the Sox break the mold and beat the rest of the league.
  11. Would make sense. Especially with the deadline being in a US timezone.
  12. I have a 20 game plan, and they sent out a link a while ago to reserve free tickets for the Friday night of the event. If you're signing up now, I'd speak to a rep and see if you can even still get them.
  13. Well, either your starting RF or the perfect platoon partner to pair with Hill if/when Robert gets traded.
  14. No - Murakami always carried a good BB% in the NPB. Elko would swing at a ball rolled to home plate. But I'd agree with you, the Sox aren't going to be players for him.
  15. Yep, could also hit 40+ bombs. He's got a lot of risk, but also a lot of potential.
  16. And he should. Okamoto is much older, and while he is probably the 'safer' immediate option, Murakami has much higher potential.
  17. You have to be realistic, Robert isn't bringing back a top 100 guy.
  18. You're better off trading for Vientos and letting him bounce back than rolling the dice on Robert, again. You know Robert is guaranteed to get hurt at some point. He repeatedly has proven his inability to stay on the field. Sox would be smart to move on from him.
  19. AAAA player, out all season. This is more of a courtesy than future substantial value for this team.
  20. Do you really believe Jerry is going to pick up money to get a better return?
  21. For our sake I hope it is, maybe Sterns gets desperate and actually gives the Sox something of value for him.
  22. Once Jansen is off the market, Fairbanks should be able to make a decision relatively soon. Curious to see what he gets because I think Fairbanks is priced out of the Sox budget.
  23. Plus not to mention Bannister hinted at the fact his durability is not suited for it.
