  1. Really feels imperative they take 1 game. Taking both is a pipedream unfortunately.
  2. Always thought the intro in “Halo” by Machine Head would be a great bullpen entrance.
  3. I don't know how anyone can properly evaluate Pedro right now. The bullpen is a complete mess right now, and they would make any manager look bad. If they pitched just middle of the pack this team would be sitting at .500 ball right now. Considering the human turd this team had the last two years running things, I'm willing to give Pedro a huge leash to try and right the ship. I can say with 100% certainty that TLR is by far the worst Sox manager I've ever seen in my lifetime.
  4. Well, positive is Benny is fine. Phantom IL move for Alberto certainly is something.
  5. Haseley can still be optioned too. Marisnick or Reyes would both need to be DFA'd to be sent back down.
  6. I still can't get over they actually found someone willing to pay to acquire him.
  7. Jomboy says in the video Trevor Plouffe confirmed that batters can see stuff like that because they are constantly looking for tip offs.
  8. Has to be a DFA - 40 man is full and Middleton needs to be added.
  9. I'd rather see Banks up personally. Diekman is a sunk cost and they are trying to get to some bridge between him and Crochet most likely. I agree though - such a short leash with Ruiz, you'd expect the same with Diekman.
  10. Don't forget the Dodgers traded Jordan Alvarez for Josh Fields (the pitcher). Every team has their fair share of L's on the trade front or through talent evaluation if you look hard enough. The Sox biggest problem is the inability to spend over those mistakes. It's been that way for 40 years.
  11. I think that Marcus Semien comp I've seen floated around makes a lot of sense. Nothing particularly special, but extremely solid.
  12. He definitely has. I loved the pickup at the time. Has a chance to be a steal considering what was given up for him.
  13. Assuming the Sox go with 13 pitchers, I guess that means Gregory Santos made the team.
  14. For league minimum he’s the perfect two week replacement for a team that needs a backup while someone is hurt. He’ll be one of those guys that bounces around a team or two I bet.
  15. I think he's going to be a pretty decent UTL guy for this team next few years.
  16. Having a real hard time seeing both Haseley and Alberto not making this team. Sox would need to do some roster maneuvering too. Neither are on the 40-Man and they still have to add Colas.
  17. I honestly thought he was hit in the face by the other guy's knee. Maybe just hit in the chest though. It's tough to see what part actually collided with him.
  18. This is literally Garcia’s role on the team. Would they actually cut Garcia?
  19. Apologies for posting this again in the same thread, but if you want to use wRC+ to evaluate a 9-Hole hitter's value, then you either missed this or chose to ignore it. Player A is Andrus. Player B is Leury Legend. Your eyes aren't deceiving you. Garcia has been the better, more productive player since 2017 using specifically that metric. It also shows that Andrus is actually below average in that department. If he was that highly sought after, he wouldn't have still been looking for a job at this point in the year. Even the Red Sox chose Yu Chang for $800K over Andrus with Story going down with injury. This isn't a case that Garcia should be starter, just proving that Andrus isn't any better than what currently is on the team (unless you truly value his potential clubhouse leadership at $3M). I liked Andrus when he was picked up last year, and he was a fun player to root for during a s%*# season, but people need to take off the rose colored glasses that those 181 AB's should not be the expectation for a 34 yr old whose about to learn how to play 2B for the first time. There's $5.5M tied into Garcia (this year) and now $3M in addition with Andrus - both of whom are essentially the same player with the bat. Imagine if they took that $8.5 and combined it with Clevinger's salary and what they may have been able to add to the team. It's just another classic Sox misuse of limited funds. FWIW, I believe some combination of Romy and Sosa could have match both of these player levels of production for this season. They both have far more potential than some sort of Garcia/Andrus combo.
