Bilous was actually listed with the best changeup in the system according to BA this year. If I'm not mistaken, Pilkington also has a fairly decent changeup. Both these guys are not long-term starters but they easily could have some value coming out of the pen. We've seen firsthand how having cheap, internal options for the pen is important. And don't forget, Cleveland has one of the best farm systems in baseball - their scouts obviously are doing something right.

People think Romy is bad offensively, he had a wRC+ of 69 (nice) last year (and 66 in his sss in 2021).

Sox added Mike Morin on a MiLB deal. He hasn’t pitched at all since 2020. I’ll never get why they bring in such random ass arms each year over someone whose actually has potential.

There are incentives that can kick it up to $10M too. Sox most likely couldn’t beat playing time nor the price.

I think the amount of negative attention they get from anyone who is triggered by them has something to do with it. I look at it like a bully. If you know it bothers people you keep doing it. I don’t understand why more people don’t choose to ignore it.
