  1. He's also loaded up and made developing pitching a priority. He knows Jerry is never going to hand out a big contract for a top of the line pitcher. They've signed hitters in the past. Hitters are also safer on the FA market. It's still far from great, but at least there is a different direction.
  2. Well, that's good because Rushing isn't gonna be a catch if he ever makes it to the majors. He's pretty atrocious back there.
  3. Awesome! Wasn't expecting this so soon. He better play everyday.
  4. Certainly seems like a precursor to a trade of DeJong, but with the way this team operates Sosa will be sent down to "work on some things" and Senzel will be starting alongside DeJong for a few more weeks.
  5. Could also give the Sox the opportunity to get a bigger package with them because of their bad years. 'Buy-low' so to speak.
  6. Eh, it helps the Sox though if the Cubs play themselves out of being sellers. Especially now that Belly is out.
  7. You can possibly think that. Jerry is in the same company as the Oakland A's when it comes to handing out a $100M contract. He's never going to spend to create a winner, because he doesn't care about winning. He dangles the carrot to create illusions.
  8. Very odd. Must be a workload issue? I would have thought Wilson had some trade value.
  9. He wasn't very good in his 8 Triple-A starts. Just let a kid pitch over another washed up vet.
  10. They certainly seem to have the pitching side of things figured out. Lots a great performances and development going on in the lower levels.
  11. Anyone who intentionally walks a batter in a 0-2 count does not know baseball, period.
  12. Which is terrifying. He won’t go over $100M. He won’t go more than 4 yrs for pitchers. Throw in no extensions for young players… they aren’t signing anyone or anything significant ever again.
  13. Even if he was cheap, I don't think he has any desire to take a team friendly deal and stay in this organization. I certainly wouldn't in his shoes.
  14. Sox only paid him league minimum with ATL covering the remander. I get what you mean, but it could have been a lot worse. This guy will never play in another MLB game again.
  15. The call is fine... he just needs to stop getting excited for EVERY. SINGLE. THING. that happens on the field. How he can't figure out the difference between a pop-out from a HR yet blows my mind. I'm hoping he's a one-and-done with the new network deal. Massively under-qualified individual compared to some of the other talent out there.
  16. More likely the 20th anniversary of the 2005 team as the centerpiece for Soxfest.
  17. Was thinking the same thing. Colson not working out would be quite the setback IMO.
  18. Probably why Schriffin was hired. Jerry wanted a guy to scream and get excited over everything to combat the suck on the broadcasts when he watched.
  19. As someone who had to deal with vestibular neuritis after a nasty sinus infection... I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Permanent damage and a solid 2-3 months of therapy just to feel normal again.
  20. It's been such a long time since I remember the Sox having an affiliate absolutely dominate like that.
  21. Not necessarily. If both of those guys are listening to coaches, putting in the work, and trying to perform but failing, then why would the coaches have issues with them? Their effort is there, they are trying, they just aren't getting it done. I don't think Colas is a guy who is willing to put it all out there to effectively get better. Like I said - I think this is a Yermin Mercedes 2.0 situation all over again and none of us know what has actually went on (in 2023) with him. Jared Kelenic was described as the same way in Seattle when he first came up.
