Howard was once a very highly thought of pitching prospect for the Phillies. I fully expect to see him shove against the Sox, especially a lineup with that bottom half of the lineup looking like it is.

I’m ok with them not gutting the system if we are simply talking rentals. If they are gonna pull off a trade like that I’d rather it be in the off-season when they aren’t trying to win the division and it’s easier to supplement your moves through FA.

I understand that, I just think there is a future with Eloy splitting time in the OF and at DH for the Sox. Robert has just as much of a history with injuries, yet nobody is clamoring to trade him away. The whole core has been a big disappointment health and performance wise.
