I'll give you some hints.
1) Five letter word. Starts with the letter "J" and ends with "y".
2) Other known aliases include: penny-pincher, cheapskate, scrooge, scumbag, asshole, fuckface, prick... you get the idea.
Maybe that's the case. We heard a lot of the word "Budget" tossed around this past offseason. I'll still die on the hill JR is extremely frugal and it prevents Hahn from being able to do his job completely (Hahn still should be fired though). IDK how, but Hahn somehow convinced him to listen on Wheeler, but there also was a lot less money committed at the time too.
Hard to sign those types of players when your owner won't open the checkbook to get it done. Gausman's agent isn't going to listen to a 3/$50 offer when the well run teams are willing to meet what they are looking for.
IDK why, I get the impression we may see something similar to the 2004 deadline where the Sox might make a shocker and shuffle the roster a bit with a fan favorite moved.
Some of these guys have improved their stock from start of the year. BA has those guys ranked a little better. Beck is 13, Sikkema is 23, and Champlain is 29.
Could be a good thing. Normally the more quiet the better. I don’t have much faith we will get moves that satisfy us though. I feel like we are gonna see a few relief additions and they will mostly stand pat and fail to address the positional needs.
