  1. I don't think anyone will. I feel like people haven't really looked at his minor league career and noticed the 30%+ strikeout rate. He isn't ready for MLB action. I honestly think he's be lucky to hit over .200 right now, if ever.
  2. Was wondering the same thing. As long as he doesn’t end up on the Twins.
  3. I wouldn’t mind the Sox taking a flyer on Isan Diaz.
  4. I really thought the Sox were going to add Joc. Would have made much more sense to have a part-time RF that could also DH and play LF as Vaughn learned RF. They are playing with fire going into the season without a legitimate outfielder. We’ve seen the Engel/Leury show before.
  5. Essentially in the middle of talking, one of the guys gets a text and says it is an insider trade that hasn't made its way to twitter. He describes it as a "multi-layered" trade, doesn't want to name teams, and guesses it is a possible "1 of 2 trades." His hint is "big contract" and he doesn't want to say more because he doesn't want to ruin anything. The other guy asks if it involves the Cubs or White Sox, and there is an awkward pause and some laughing, with "White Sox, potentially" finally being admitted. Who knows.
  6. All I can think about is that scene from Moneyball when they are discussing teaching Hattenberg 1B.
  7. Hahn should be fired. Yes, fired. Two first basemen and a DH with zero experience in RF on a team with championship expectations. Pitiful.
  8. I love this. Really wish the Sox would have targeted a legitimate backup catcher though.
  9. I'm sure it has to some extent, but the same can be said for every team. I'm sure there are just as many players that have cities they refuse to move too, guys that don't want to play out of position, etc.
  10. You actually are saying that the Sox are passing along fake information to appease 6,881 members of Sox Talk?
  11. Been thinking about it all night. If you take the low-end of the offer, 72/4=18 (obviously this number might actually be lower for 2022 based on how contracts generally appreciate in value). Then take that average and start subtracting the dollar amounts from the post-lockout additions, 18-(7+3+5.5)=2.5 This fits with the earlier narrative some people were pushing around that the Sox are tapped out. Of course, if you move Kimbrel, that number could increase dramatically depending on how much the Sox can save. Maybe there is still a chance they are able to get him, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I also don't think this FO is that smart to be able to pull off anything that requires multiple steps or moving parts.
  12. Not sure I like that. Waiting also increases the risk of Kimbrel getting hurt. It really feels like they have no clue what they are doing this offseason, and it's a massive fail that it doesn't seem there's any intent to reinvest that money back into the team with all the glaring holes in the roster.
  13. Do you have faith Hahn knows what he's doing this offseason?
  14. I’m so happy to hear the Sox lost yet another trade partner.
  15. Joe Kelly pitching against Correa with GRF booming with chants of "Cheater! Cheater!" all year round will be something to see.
  16. It's like the entire league backed away from Conforto, and the Sox are pulling another Machado (granted much smaller scale).
  17. They're the exact type of team that could be a thorn in the side of the Sox and take advantage of some untimely Sox injuries. Maybe the competition will be good for the Sox, but they got a whole lot better and have the pieces to continue to add if they want.
  18. Twins won't be as bad as they were last year, and I'd be surprised if they are done. They grab Montas or Manaea and they have a solid team. Our Sox never answer back, I wouldn't expect them to now.
  19. Nope, 2023 is a player option and he is on record as saying he is going to use it. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/10/charlie-blackmon-plans-to-exercise-2022-23-player-options.html
