  1. If the Padres sign Soler, I have a terrible feeling that the Sox will end up with Myers for RF in a Kimbrel trade. Soler currently does not fit on that Padres roster.
  2. Great strategy to trade pieces from the 30th ranked farm instead of simply spending money.
  3. It really is a head scratcher. All about money, but you'd think a better team would increase revenue, more people in the park, deeper playoff run. What do I know though.
  4. You’re much more optimistic than I am. I guess I totally buy into them being tapped out right now. Not very optimistic at the moment that Kinbrel will be moved either at this point.
  5. Working against who though? His market has been almost nonexistent in the public forum. Sure as hell ain’t the Sox. Giants signed Pederson.
  6. Insane. Idiotic. There’s aren’t enough words to describe how bad this entire transaction is ending up.
  7. I disagree. I know of the two guys who run that pod and they aren’t like that at all. One of them is heavily connected to Kris Bryant. They aren’t looking for clicks in the way a random Twitter “insider” would.
  8. ReallY hoping we hear some Kimbrel movement today. Would be great if that rumor yesterday was true. I honestly hate that guy and I just want him off this team so bad.
  9. Perez honestly is probably a solid option. He just may not be MLB ready yet.
  10. I’d be all for Bellinger. It’s risky, but I’d rather have him than Kimbrel. Haniger would be a dream but that makes zero sense for SEA.
  11. I’m at the point I’ve come to terms they aren’t adding a RF bat. Just move Kimbrel to free up some cap space and get Manaea so we have an extra arm. They CANNOT allow Keuchel’s option to vest this season. If they are that up against the wall they can’t afford any dead weight contracts.
  12. I agree. I think Cease will ultimately be the ace of the staff.
  13. The Sox must have thought they could have netted an equal return value in a Kimbrel trade as the Rodon pick compensation that the QO would have given them. We all realize they couldn't risk doing both, so it had to be one or the other. I just cannot understand why they would even entertain either of those options If they were that caught up against their budget. Why even take that risk? I honestly cannot see them moving Kimbrel now without picking up something on that deal, or including a prospect to sweeten the deal.
  14. Because if he comes out and says they are at their limit while trying to offload Kimbrel, he loses negotiating power. The power of perception.
  15. If only they had an extra $16M they could put towards improving the team... Oh wait.
  16. If Conforto is seeking an opt out, it 100% won't be with the Sox. JR isn't going to sign off on that.
  17. Jose is an ironman, I can't imagine what he must feel like on a day to day basis. His body has taken a beating his whole career, I'm sure he is feeling the effects of it by now.
  18. Nick Ciuffo! j/k They literally have done nothing to fix the most important areas of need. This team is still good enough to win the division, but a lot is going to have to go right for them to go deep into the playoffs.
  19. Exactly. The need to try and maintain/re-build the farm so they can keep extending the window.
  20. And what happens if June 1st rolls around and Sheets and Vaughn are both having sophomore slumps or grade out as the worst defensive RF pair in the league? This team is right back to having a black hole in RF again. When you're in the position the Sox are in you put your foot on the throat of the competition. That's what good teams do. There's plenty of options for RF still. They need to take advantage.
