If you take the low-end of the offer, 72/4=18 (obviously this number might actually be lower for 2022 based on how contracts generally appreciate in value).
Then take that average and start subtracting the dollar amounts from the post-lockout additions, 18-(7+3+5.5)=2.5
This fits with the earlier narrative some people were pushing around that the Sox are tapped out. Of course, if you move Kimbrel, that number could increase dramatically depending on how much the Sox can save. Maybe there is still a chance they are able to get him, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I also don't think this FO is that smart to be able to pull off anything that requires multiple steps or moving parts.
