  1. Correct. Lopez is out of options. They now have to move Kimbrel to keep Lopez and Ruiz on the roster, unless Lopez is being floated as a trade chip.
  2. This seems like a replacement for a long relief role. They can't possible look at him as starter potential. Even as depth, I'd put Lopez and Lambert ahead of him.
  3. I didn't realize that, guess that isn't as terrible as I originally thought.
  4. Wow. That is a surprise. That’s quite the asking price for a 1 year rental.
  5. I would think of all nights to tweet that, tonight would make the most sense coming out of a lockout with tomorrow being the mandatory report date for players, hahaha
  6. Not thrilled with this. He's better than Mendick, but this better mean they have a good solution for RF.
  7. Ginn was the Mets #5 prospect on MLB Pipeline's rankings for perspective.
  8. Do people actually expect TLR to say "No." re: Kimbrel?
  9. People need to step off the ledge. If LaRussa wants help, he’ll get it.
  10. My Cubs fan friends are not too happy right now, haha
  11. I think this is right on the money, assuming there isn't some sort of possible prospect swap with a Kimbrel return and/or Tony doesn't want him moved.
  12. This is destroying the sport and there won't be a Sosa or McGuire to save it this time. What a complete embarrassment and clusterfuck all the way around.
  13. Sounds to me like Ortiz might have some personal connections or interests in the whole buscones business.
  14. He has some impressive power. Hit 8 HR's in just over 100 PA last season, hit 20 at AAA in 2019. No clue if he's decent behind the plate.
  15. This was a fear of mine. Cease has the best stuff on the staff IMO.
  16. I'm 32. I remember reading WSI back in high school, and was a long time lurker on this site. Finally came to my senses and joined this place once I realized how much better it was.
  17. If Carson Fulmer is still getting shots, this guy might as well have a chance too ?
  18. All conjecture. There is no way to prove that would actually come to fruition. They could just as easily line their pockets - only difference is they would be permanently bad.
  19. Zero reason the 9th best team deserves the #1 overall pick. That system would end up permanently burring teams like the Pirates, Orioles, etc. Baseball needs to adopt similar methods that we see with other leagues. The lottery would be interesting for the top 5 or so picks. Also, allow picks to be traded. This one alone would prevent the need to tank a roster for years. The draft's purpose is to give bad/terrible teams a sense of hope for the future, not reward mediocrity or a "just not quite good enough" effort.
  20. It would be pretty funny if a flurry of moves are made once the lockout is over.
