Yermin absolutely the right call. This team needs guys with positional flexibility right now. Hopefully Yermin can figure it out, because he such a fun player to watch when he’s on.
I immediately thought Yermin. He's been struggling and offers little defensive value. Sheets at least can attempt RF and competent 1B. Would not surprise me one bit.
It was pretty obvious he had an issue with his hand or arm. Stone called it. He's been inconsistent as much as anyone in the bullpen, but I wouldn't put his implosion completely on his ability tonight.
It certainly makes a ton of sense on paper. Although with Nightengale leaking it, I can't help but wonder why the Sox intentionally want this info out there. They normally don't operate like that unless they are looking at an alternative option and trying to force their hand?
Adding Escobar would be a decent addition. Sox need some more thump in the lineup, especially down in the bottom of the order. He shouldn't cost all that much either, which is important because this team needs to add some arms for the bullpen too.
How are people convincing themselves that the Sox should trade depth away on a team that desperately lacks depth everywhere else. This is crazy talk about moving Vaughn or Eloy.
I wouldn't look at any of it seriously. Look at Spencer Torkelson - he's only 1 for 20. They just need to get back to playing every day. Judging these guys on 10 to 20 AB's isn't anything when they haven't face live competition in over a year. This minor league season is going to be very interesting for not just the Sox but all 30 teams.
And Charlotte innings = White Sox innings? There's literally no harm in letting him start games in Charlotte, unless of course you find it necessary to give those innings to Matt Tomshaw instead?
