  1. Good. People need to not get so bent out of shape over every guy that leaves here and calls the organization out. That's a direct reflection of Jerry Reindsdorf and how he chooses to operate his team. The Sox are behind other teams. It's pretty obvious when you watch a Sox game and compare that on-field product it to around the league.
  2. Eh, not sure about that. There's a logjam of bodies for Charlotte's OF: Jones, Fletcher, Julks, Mitchell, DeLoach and now Palacios. With Teel and Q splitting time at DH... I think it's more than just due to a rehab assignment.
  3. Makes it even worse that Brian Bannister commented to his tweet about what a great job he's doing. Schriffin is an underqualified idiot. He doesn't deserve to be a MLB broadcaster.
  4. Yeah, I found that odd too. Only game two, maybe Venable wants everyone to see action immediately is the only thinking I can come up with?
  5. I'd be very shocked if anyone claimed him. In all likelihood he'll be knocked off the top 30 by the end of the year anyways with the injury.
  6. Well, the Reds rumor popped up right around that time I believe. I don't think the expectation was he'd be here to start the year. Even Robert admitted that himself. I wouldn't be surprised to see him be one of those rare May trades.
  7. https://www.si.com/mlb/red-sox/news/red-soxs-alex-verdugo-opens-up-about-being-singled-out-by-alex-cora-multiple-times-in-2023-steve1 Seems like a real winner. He's also 35... Verdugo is 28.
  8. Also... 28 other teams choose to not sign him. It's March 20th. Maybe there's some issues there we don't know about if teams weren't even willing to sign the guy on the cheap.
  9. They aren't losing the old one. I heard it's going to be an additional alternate this year.
  10. No reason not to, it's two free roster spots.
  11. Pretty sure he said he wouldn't be surprised if he sold, not that it was something he thought was imminent.
  12. I'm perfectly fine with that. Sure beat the "has no money, and makes stupid emotional decisions that screw it all up (LaRussa)."
  13. I actually think it'll be worse... especially once Robert gets moved.
  14. Gray is also a NRI... his options don't get used if he gets sent to Charlotte. No reason to add him unless he straight up wows in camp.
  15. Because the shares don't magically appear out of nowhere. They have to create them by splitting the current shares to create whatever amount is being bought.
  16. Majority. Jerry holds the final say despite not having the most shares.
  17. Well, they don't have to sell, but as I am understanding it, I believe their shares will be diluted if they keep them.
  18. Hasn't it been rumored she technically owns the majority out of everyone?
  19. Doesn't he have a personal relationship with one of the minority shareholders? I feel like I've seen that connection before.
  20. I agree. Hopefully it's by another team.
  21. They just could have easily DFA'd him - no one would have claimed him. It makes zero sense to keep him rostered at this point. It isn't like he is some magical arm that hits triple digits.
  22. I don't understand how Jesse Scholtens continues to survive the chopping block after TJ.
  23. Really everything that could go wrong has gone wrong with everyone involved. Cease ended up looking great the 1st half. Thorpe gets hurt (and suffers a setback). Wilson becomes unflippable at the deadline. Zavala struggles mightily. Iriarte lost his 'stuff'. There still plenty of opportunity that some of the returns works out, but I don't think any of them are going to end up the impact-level of players we may have been expecting.
