  1. White Sox Twitter causing deals to fall through, yet again!
  2. I don't care how good he's been the last few years, Dunning + another arm is a massive overpay for 1 year of Lynn.
  3. I'm glad this guy did this. This will be the nail in the coffin whether or not there is a single ounce of credibility among the bullshit that I think makes him up.
  4. I don't see anyone calling Dunning the next Giolito. He is still valuable as a 4/5 though. He looked more than capable to become a guy that could hold down the back end of the rotation for a few years. I'd much rather trade Stiever at this point, especially since his FB velo disappeared.
  5. I actually think Pederson is the better player though in this case. Pederson at least carries a wRC+ over 100 (for the most part). Heywards beats him out in his defense, but that's about it. Even comparing their fWAR, Pederson has him beat. I think I'd take the HR potential of Pederson than Heywards speech-giving abilities.
  6. Heyward would be an incredibly expensive strong side platoon option.
  7. I think this is very realistic. In fact, I think I'd prefer Gallo to Pederson. He was having a hell of a season in 2019 before he went and got hurt.
  8. People better temper their expectations with Pederson. I have a die-hard Dodgers fans and he used one word to describe Pederson: streaky. I don't get the love fest he gets from some people. If you can't stand Grandal, you better lump Pederson into the same category and expect similar results. At least Grandal is at the top of the catcher pool of talent, where as Pederson is firmly in the middle of the pack.
  9. The next guy in line to join the over-the-hill-and-come-to-the-Sox-to-have-your-career-fall-off-a-cliff club.
  10. Thinking of Neris on the Phillies? He was demoted. Iglesias bounced back this year. He had a high ERA in 2019.
  11. Garrett doesn't make sense to me. The have Bummer, (tendered) Fry, and (potentially) Crochet. I don't think you try to trade for an additional lefty option for the pen. If depth is that much of a concern, I'm sure there are plenty of available LHP options that are FA right now that they can bring in as ST invitees. Unless they are that concerned about Bummer, but he looked fine to me after coming back.
  12. It's essentially the garage sale, just digital. I managed to get a helmet yesterday for $30, but it's the old shiny version. The matte ones went super fast. Unless you knew what you were looking for, it was tough to navigate.
  13. Couldn't agree more. Happy for him. Although I do wonder just how much he'll be able to maintain his bat as a starter. We saw him wear down at the end of 2019, and I am not overly convinced his bat is going to hold up.
  14. Not really. Career wise he’s below the Mendoza line. He’s been heavily protected against them when on the Dodgers.
  15. Paying for Tony’s lawyers adds up.
  16. Not gonna lie. I have no idea who or what an Avery Weems is.
  17. He’s more hitter than pitcher. Calling him another Ohtani is definitely pushing it. He also hasn’t really pitched all that much. Looks like he could have the ability too though, as he hits mid-90’s with his FB.
  18. Based on what we heard this season from various sources and outlets, it doesn't sound like this kid is going to need a full minor league season. If he's ready you bring him up. Even the FO was debating doing just that near the end of the year.
  19. For the back end of the season its a combo of Vaughn/Abreu, but I think we'll see a rotating DH to start the year off as the Sox will be playing service time games with Vaughn to start the year. I don't see this team using their limited funds from JR for the DH. Any type of spending or player acquisition needs to go to RF, SP, and possibly the back end of the bullpen.
  20. I think the vast majority of players performances from this season could be chalked up to a bit of bad luck given the circumstances. Doesn't mean I want the Sox to absorb that contract, but I would be very surprised is Castellanos is a .225 hitting moving forward. If the power evaporated, that's when I would start getting a * little * concerned.
  21. I’d entertain it as a possible backup plan. He has interesting stats, but remember the KBO is often considered equivalent to Double-A competition. He’s not going to come over here and hit 30 homers. He carries some risk.
  22. Lopez has an option remaining too. Doesn't hurt if he's in Charlotte to being the year. Maybe Katz can get him halfway decent.
