  1. Any reason to be more concerned? If it continues does that suggest that there could be a more serious cause for why it happened in the first place?
  2. I think we might see something happen. We've seen back-to-back-to-back-to-back HR's, a player hit 4 HR's in 4 straight AB's, 27 HR's in 7 days, and a No-No in 1 weeks time.
  3. Man, what a problem the Sox have. How do you not bring back McCann after something like this? They really are in sync out there. Congrats to Gio. Fucking awesome game.
  4. Well, not out the realm of possibility. Wasn't Cease nearly traded for Syndergaard? I don't think they will trade Cease however. More likely someone along the lines of Stiever or Lopez. Someone they already internally feel is not a rotation piece moving forward.
  5. I’m fine with this. Sox don’t have anyone capable of providing infield depth in Schaumburg. At least Yolmer comes with a proven glove.
  6. Not specifically by name. There was a hint that there could be a "surprise" call-up. We're all just speculating if that cryptic hint and our most ridiculous, yet surprisingly accurate twitter insider are referring to the same thing. If I could find the post, I'd post a link for you.
  7. This is necessarily true. He's actually having a very good 2020 season. His FB velocity is also back up and averaging 91.8 mph. To put that into perspective, last season he was around 90.3 mph. He's still a tough matchup and it certainly seems like he's re-inventing himself this year.
  8. If the Sox think he's ready though and can push them to make the playoffs? I'm not saying it's the right answer, but EE has looked horrid and the only other real option is Collins, who probably does not belong in a starting role long term. It might not be a bad idea to get him some playoff experience. Plus, look around the league at some of the guys who have made their MLB debuts so far this year: CLE - Triston McKenzie DET - Casey Mize DET - Isaac Paredes DET - Tarik Skubal KC - Kris Bubic KC - Brady Singer LA - Keibert Ruiz MIA - Sixto Sanchez NYY - Miguel Yajure PHI - Alec Bohm TEX - Leody Taveras SF - Joey Bart Most of these guys have never even been above A-ball. Vaughn coming up may not seem as crazy as it sounds. Again, I don't know if it's the right call, or even if that's what I want to see them do right now. But looking around what other teams have done, maybe it's more beneficial than him taking batting practice off Clayton Richard.
  9. Seems like whoever it was has a number in the 30's. Clayton Richard is listed with #33 on the site. If Madrigal is going to hit a HR off anyone, I totally would not be surprised if it came off him. EDIT: This is correct. Forgot he was even in that group.
  10. Read this and tell me how it's a reach: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/coronavirus-long-term-effects/art-20490351 Long lasting fatigue and blood vessel problems in the legs could be contributing to Moncada's legs issues. We know he had it, because he admitted to it. To completely rule out he's experiencing some minor side effects while going through the day-to-day rigors of a baseball season is narrow-minded. It's a very real possibility.
  11. I think this is it exactly. Sox just need to be cautious with him. Two off days this week should hopefully help.
  12. He was a (barely) average or replacement level player. I don't think you can call him not good. Players like Cordell and LaMarre were not good. I'm not sure what we are seeing with him right now, but he was at least a threat to RHP in Texas. Engel and him on paper are a legit match made in heaven platoon scenario. I wonder if the Sox have drastically tinkered with Mazara and his approach and he simply isn't able to implement it into his game. His strike out percentage is way higher than he's had over his career. There's obviously something going on there with him.
  13. I would absolutely DH Grandal tomorrow over EE. With the way Darvish has been pitching, I wouldn't expose a struggling EE to his 9+ pitches he throws as he attempts to break out of his slump.
  14. Well, this certainly would be something. This might be the "surprise call-up" we heard rumors about earlier in the week?
  15. A lot of posters wanted this guy in the offseason. He's struggled this year, and I am sure a lot of teams will be looking at him, but with all the debate around bringing Yolmer back, what would everyone think about this guy instead? Worth a shot?
  16. Bauer has been on record he'd be happy signing 1 year deals from here on out. Now, that might change with Covid and the whole landscape of everything right now, but he might be easier to get that we think. I could see Bauer being a problem with JR though. He seems like the exact type of player that would completely piss off the FO with his attitude and antics. For me, Bauer needs to be 1A, with Stroman 1B (if Bauer goes elsewhere).
  17. That’s surprising. I thought it looked good too. Definitely a small sample size for a guy coming off TJ. I’d bet it at least gets to around average once he gets for innings and brushes the rust off. I don’t recall ever seeing any reports that any of his pitches were below average.
  18. Tyler Johnson seems like a realistic surprise call-up option.
  19. That would be amazing though I highly, highly doubt we see that. D-Backs have Marte at 2B, and trading away their best starter for a light hitting 2B when they have an outside chance to get into the playoffs would be very questionable decision. They started the year terrible but have been on a run recently to put them back into playoff talks.
  20. No clue. Maybe someone along the lines of Trevor Williams? Though, I must admit he's quite underwhelming if you ask me. All the Pirate's 'good' arms are out with injuries.
  21. Have to assume if there was a chance for a deal, it's going to be with teams that are well out of it. I'd be surprised if Arizona or Houston trade anything out of their rotations right now.
  22. Anderson's wife makes him spaghetti for every HR he hits. He has a lot of spaghetti dinners coming up!
