  1. Can’t wait to be completely unproductive today. Time for Hahn and Jerry to get this done!
  2. Under the radar as usual, which usually works in the Sox best interest.
  3. Not this offseason, definitely seems like both these guys are coming to a conclusion.
  4. Well, that's not exactly good. I'm guessing most of that would be due to graduations? But then does that mean they expect Madrigal to make his debut this year? I've read about glove concerns with Bush - he really seems like a guy without a position.
  5. Great stuff. I'm hopeful the Sox can get a solid platoon out of both of these guys. Over the past 3 seasons, Collins has a slash line of .243/.394/.453 against RHP (and his worst year was in Winston-Salem in 2016). Not anything eye opening, and I realize using low minor splits isn't the best supporting data, but at least he doesn't appear to an automatic out on the strong side. He's absolutely terrible against LHP (.202/.333/.353 in the same sample), which I know Seby excels at hitting. I wonder if that's why the Sox are pushing Collins to Charlotte? Joey Gallo, Chris Carter, and... *gulp* Adam Dunn are a few that come to mind (all over 10% BB%). Depends on how you value those guys, but all of them had fairly long careers, and obviously Gallo is still playing.
  6. This is pretty much where I am, I'm just sick of waiting.
  7. Manny and Bryce will announce their decision at 7:11 AM tomorrow morning.
  8. Hey, at least it’s what we all want to hear right? We got some Nintendo like moves going down! Might want to ask this guy if he’s currently playing the Show andconfusing it with reality?
  9. And $15M is not going to be the difference maker.
  10. Someone better at math could probably confirm this, but this is why people need to chill out about SD potentially offering more money. Taxes play a big part.
  11. True, you could argue this for sure. He obviously was not a perfect selection, but there are players that have had some success with similar issues at the MLB level. I did think Collins was BPA at that time (I can’t recall the prior draft with Fulmer). Plus a hitch in a swing doesn’t increase a player’s risk for injury like shit mechanics does. Seems way more risky to draft a flawed pitcher than hitter.
  12. The thing I find interesting is that they even drafted him knowing/observing this. I would think that if you fully believe a guy to have shitty mechanics, how can you believe changing a guys mechanics won’t cause him to lose or affect his stuff? I realize most of the good players out of that draft went before him, but was he really the BPA available at that time?
  13. Well, wonder what we’ll hear today. Phillies rumors? Yankees back in it? Wonder whose brother’s ex-girlfriend’s former dog sitter finds out today.
  14. It’s pretty obvious the Sox planned for this offseason to land a superstar. Yea, missing out won’t halt the rebuild, but this offseason will be a massive failure if they fail to convert on Manny or Harper.
  15. Then what other team is out there? The Padres were denied a meeting I thought? Is he seriously waitingrhe Yankees out?
  16. Would it be possible to have 2 different offers out to Machado? One if the Sox can land Harper, and one without? I can’t see that having any chance of working out, but what if they approached Machado and said if you agree to take less, we can pursue Harper, and become a better team sooner. If Harper doesn’t choose to come here we will offer you this. Seems like a terrible negotiation tactic, but with the way this offseason has gone who really knows anymore?
  17. Gotta go with Walker as a guy to keep an eye one. I feel like he's going to have a sneaky good year.
  18. If anyone want a good laugh, go read @MLB2019INSIDER latest series of tweets. Long story short, they don't know what happened (what a surprise), but they know Manny has decided to play for the Sox, just hasn't decided to put pen to paper because... wait for it... he and Harper know whoever signs last will get the bigger contract. ??? This can't end soon enough.
  19. Would I like Kimbrel on the Sox? Yes. Do I think the Sox should sign Kimbrel? No. They shouldn't spend that much on a closer when they are still at least 2 seasons away from competing.
  20. Hector Gomez retweeted the Andy Martino tweet about neither Machado or Harper ending up on the Yankees.
