  1. vs. RHP 1. Eaton 2. Ramirez 3. Abreu 4. Avi 5. Melky 6. LaRoche 7. Gillaspie 8. Flowers 9. Johnson vs. LHP 1. Bonifacio 2. Ramirez 3. Abreu 4. Avi 5. Melky 6. Beckham 7. LaRoche 8. Flowers 9. Eaton/Johnson These are my optimal line-ups to help this team get out of their funk right now. Lexi would be best served not having Flowers or Soto hitting behind him...
  2. 3 double plays 3 errors 6 hits only... Glad we won but...at some point it's gotta get better.
  3. Mental mistakes is right. You don't have to be a great fielder to mentally know where you're going with the baseball if it's hit to you... Perfect example was Avi in that 4-3 win over Cleveland a few weeks ago...directly cost the Sox a run because he had no idea where he was going with the baseball and instead of just getting it in he double pumped and the runner scored from 1st on a base hit. It was disgusting. There have been a few times where Eaton has done the same thing but it hasn't cost the Sox so it went unnoticed. Getting caught flat footed against aggressive opponents has been a common theme in the Ventura era.
  4. Finish this homestand 4-2 and the Sox will be in pretty good shape going forward. 12-16 after the homestand and get positioned to go on a run (if they have one in them)....
  5. Considering Q's last start vs. Detroit and Sale's last start in general I would be very happy with 2/3...we need to walk before we can run. That being said I feel 2/3 is necessary this weekend as well even though it's going to be a makeshift pitching rotation.
  6. It's 13 games...A 5-8 stretch does not a season make.
  7. With how bad this team has looked so far and how awful these pitching match-ups look vs. the Tribe I would take a 4-3 homestand...pair that with being 4-3 in their last seven games currently and it puts the Sox 8-10 at the end of the homestand. Not ideal...but if any of us were told they would be 8-10 after the 0-4 start we all take it.
  8. He's fine. He apologized for it. Said he was embarrassed. It was a frustrating evening in general. He's been hit hard before and not acted like that (The Cleveland game earlier this year jumps to mind). Not a huge deal.
  9. Still wish we could have seen what that 2010 team could have been if he wouldn't have gone down... Jake will be missed.
  10. There's nothing else to say besides...Chris freakin' Sale. A joy to watch.
  11. 1. De Aza CF 2. Ramirez SS 3. Rios RF 4. Konerko DH 5. Dunn 1B 6. Viciedo LF 7. Keppinger 2B 8. Gillaspie 3B 9. Flowers C
  12. You know there's an issue when "ball gets away!..." has been uttered by Hawk more this year then "You can put it on the board. YES!" I swear I hear "ball gets away!..." like 2-3 times a game.
  13. QUOTE (staxx @ May 14, 2013 -> 03:54 PM) WHY is dunn hitting 4 Who cares at this point. You can put a .130 hitter there or a .180-.200 hitter there. Not a s*** ton of options.
  14. Strike out would have been easier to stomach.
  15. Here's another thing the Sox accomplished the last few innings of doing nothing...Now Hernandez is gonna go first sign of trouble. Probably his last batter here.
  16. There's no way this line-up could put up 6 runs. Not that 6 would win tonight anyway.
  17. "we can go 1-2-3 with the best of them" Hawk Harrelson
  18. This is the point in the game where Hernandez settles in and goes 6 innings allowing just the 2 runs.
  19. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 13, 2013 -> 07:46 PM) This team's approach at the plate is an absolute disgrace to baseball. Actually the lack of talent in the line-up is what's an absolute disgrace to baseball...
  20. That's gonna start happening to Greene a lot with runners on. He first pitch hacks every AB.
