  1. It's Kenny Williams, moves that are going to be the deciding factor on wheter or not this team makes the playoffs. If you don't like the moves he makes than you obviously don't like the players he is bringing in and therefore you shouldn't have any reason to go see this time. To bring up the Ritchie trade ,which was absolutely awful, is like me bringing up the Sammy Sosa for George Bell trade. Whining now is going to change the past. Realize what this team is capable of and you'll come around. If you want to be a complete pessimist you're a fan of the wrong Chicago team!!
  2. All I'm saying is there are a lot of people b****ing and moaning about getting rid of too many prospects, but it would be the same people b****ing and moaning if we had another White Flag Trade. This team hasn't won a series in 86 years. Do something about it!
  3. If you don't like what KW is doing to push this team over the edge now, you better not be showing up to buy playoff tickets.
  4. Forget about Boone, this offense is fine as is. Crede needs to stay here and play everyday. I'd like to see the Sox get a fifth starter without giving up too much. You don't need Freddy Garcia or Sidney Ponson for your fifth starter. I would be happy enough to get a Kelvim Escobar or a Kevin Jarvis. Get a fifth starter and hang up the phone KW.
  5. If I ever hear another word on this site about possibly aquiring FELIX HEREDIA, I'm outta here!! What are you thinking?
  6. At this point the White Sox should be included in every trade rumor out there. Kenny Williams is busting his ass and should be considered a potential darkhorse in every imaginable trade.
  7. I obviously don't know as much about the past contract talks and whom did what to make the contract fall through, as you do. However I do know that he does want to play in St. Louis. Whether he is using these quotes as a bargaining chip I don't know. Either way it is completely inappropriate. I love having Mark Buehrle on this team as much as anyone and I don't want to see this contract issue have Mark Buehrle's name dragged through the mud of Chicago's media. All I know is his actions don't express the kind of team spirit that I expect from a Chicago White Sox. This is a class organization!
  8. If they keep up stats like that, maybe all the minor league freaks will shut-up about how we traded away our future. If the Sox do make the playoffs. The nay-sayers should be banned from buying tickets. :dips***
  9. I gotta agree with you. Peavy isn't going anywhere and I personally haven't heard any trade rumors about him. I would be shocked if Peavy was traded anywhere. Especially if it is for offense. That team has no pitching as it is. Texas is the perfect example for what a buttload of offense and no pitching gets you.
  10. The infield is definitely getting better every day. Alomar seems to be helping Jose out quite a bit and Joe C. is a future gold glover in this league for years to come. Konerko obviously isn't the best defensive firstbaseman in the league, but I have seen him make some great plays this year as well as some suspect ones.
  11. It is nice to know that Mark Buehrle is 6-0 against the royals. Though May has won five straight decisions. I still don't think the Royals have enough to outlast the resurgent Sox!
  12. There would be nothing sweeter than the White Sox taking the front page of the Chicago Tribune with a World Series headline. Of course it would probably be replaced by some bogus Cubs news like "Cubs tell White Sox, wait till next year". At least we can come up with a better team motto than that. Even if it is "The kids can play".
  13. OMG here we go again..... What the hell is that supposed to mean?
  14. I like the following in this order, Jeff Suppan, Kelvim Escobar, Kevin Jarvis. In that order. Suppan has double digit wins on a team that is awful. He threw a complete game shut-out against the Cardinals whom have the best everyday line-up in baseball. Escobar does have really nasty stuff and would love to see him in the rotation or bullpen. Jarvis I like as a last resort.
  15. I don't think it would really even take a World Series victory. A playoff series win or two would make Chicago baseball fans realize that "hey, we're spending all the money over here to try and field a winner, and this other team on the Southside is spening half as much and winning. What's with that?" If the Sox make the playoffs this year and the Cub's don't, I think Kenny Williams should get to publicly CANE Jim Hendry right in front of Wrigley Field on opening day next year!!!!!!
  16. Don't get me wrong, I would love nothing more than to have Buehrle in the rotation until 2010 if we could. I have just noticed that he takes every opportunity when talking to the media to bring up something about the Cardinals. When we were beating up on the Cubs he said, "It's always good to be the Cubs, but it is especially nice when it helps the Cardinals." I just don't want an unhappy cancer in the clubhouse bringing this team down. We all remember what Jaime Navarro did to the mentality of this team.
  17. Winning eight of the next twelve would be great and they can obviously do it. It would definitely show the White Sox are for real and will no longer be a pushover on everyone's schedule. I want nothing more than people in other American League cities to see Chicago on the schedule and think, "Oh s***, we'll be lucky to win two against them." Unfortunately as long as that miserable excuse for a baseball franchise is destroying this city on the Northside, the White Sox will always play second fiddle. It's a damn shame that Cub fans don't have enough common sense to realize that they are chasing an impossible dream!! :fthecubs :sosasucks :fthecubs
  18. Between Bartolo Colon and Rick White I think we have more than enough obese hurlers on this team!
  19. Barring an unfortunately poor start from Loaiza or Buehrle, I think we take two of three of these games easy!!
  20. As nice as it would be to grab another pitcher from Cinncinati, I think there are teams out there with much better pitchers that we can get much cheaper than giving up a top prospect. I like the talk about Kevin Jarvis with San Diego or even Livan Hernandez with Montreal.
  21. Everyone knows that Mark Buehrle wants nothing more than to play in St. Louis. If he is gonna play hardball with us and not sign because he wants to go to St. Louis no matter how much we offer him, than we might as well trade him while we can get something for him. Whether it be prospects or a current player. I'd have to say, Jim Edmonds would look mighty nice in centerfield!
  22. I actually really like Ken Harrelson, but only when he Darrin Jackson shuts his pie hole long enough to let him talk. God I miss Wimpy!!
  23. It would appear to me, that Billy Koch is getting much of the same treatment. I would be astonished if he got a chance to close a game the rest of this year if the score is less than four runs. In which case, JM may have given Koch more opportunities to get his problems together than Foulke, but neither did or will be the closer for the White Sox in the second half.
  24. I can't say I didn't have my doubts about the Foulke for Koch trade, but let's not forget how Foulke was pitching last year when we were all calling for his head. Koch wasn't the best trade in the world obviously, but let's not all pretend we were riding the Keith Foulke bandwagon last year!!!
  25. I would be more concerned with the Twins trade as well. The Twins have proved that when they are firing on all cylinders that can be dominant. I'm still skeptical of the Royals. Eventually these other teams are going to get the hang of these pitchers and start tagging them hard. Adding Juan Gonzalez doesn't make you any more or less dangerous. It just turns your clubhouse into a circus!! Let them make the trade for Juan-Gon. The Twins are still the only team that concerns me right now. (But Beware the Cleveland Indians!!!)
