  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 13, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) Woo hoo Teahen belts one way out ! I love Mark Teahen... I want you to love him too... Tonight, when you hit your knees....ask God to love him...
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) Outhomered 7 to 2 in a 3 game set with the Twins, and both homers were from Quentin. This team needs more power. Adam Dunn would look pretty good in this line up right about now. KW tried, I'll say that...maybe a miracle pick up from the waiver wire. As for Jenks...I won't miss him...Putz will do a good job.
  3. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) Just saw Paulie kick some s*** around in the dugout. That's the first time I've ever seen him show any emotion. What's he pissed about...first of all, he sucked tonight...second of all he insisted that KW not make any changes to the team at the deadline...so you get what you get Paulie.
  4. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 10:09 PM) Maybe we are just runnin out of gas from that great run we had. White Sox fans are very intuitive when it comes to the team's chances. Yes, they are only a game out but it appears the Twins are the better team. Sox fans get excited when they sense something exciting about to happen and we just ain't feelin' it.. Things could change in the next six weeks but as of now, the WS are not looking too good. Does anyone here feel the WS will go to Minnesota and have a chance to win a series? I don't know...I guess I expected more from them in Baltimore and this series...life goes on
  5. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) And now the genius manager is going to burn through our bullpen the night before a series with Minny. Put Liebrink or Pena in fu*k you Ozzie u piece of s. t. U an ur horrble offesense and decisions lost this game. I hope ur stubborness for Kotsay costs u ur job when we fizzle out the rest of the year. One more time f**k u Ozzie guillen, ur a lucky manager. KW you better rectify this BS offense. What a joke Baltimore. Fk KW had a chance to rectify the offense at the trading deadline...not much he can do now. I don't see another Rios falling in his lap.
  6. The WS have come back to earth...it's going to be a battle to determine the victim of the Yankees or Jays...Adam Dunn we need you now!
  7. So far...so bad...I don't like what I'm seeing from our offense thus far ...Until that ball just left the yard that is
  8. Very disappointing...but that's why Williams tried to get Adam Dunn...to prevent nights like this. How ironic that Jim Thome had a key hit in the ninth for the Twins.
  9. ...and another thing... Jenks should just shut his mouth after he blows a save like today. He sounds like a complete doofus when he explains himself. Just say, "I suck", and be on your way, Bobby!
  10. As I am a card carrying old fart, I wish the guy well...but this doesn't sound like the answer to our needs!
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) What will it take some of you people to admit this guy sucks? Well said! We all know what we see...it just takes guts to admit what we see is not good. Jenks is not the closer that strikes fear like Goose Gossage, Joe Nathan and numerous others past and present. There's something wrong with the guy, that's obvious but I'm sure OG will stick with him cause that's what OG does. OG is a players manager so he'll coddle Jenks and try to get something out of him. At what point do these blown save come back to haunt you??? Minnesota will be in it to the end, so we need a reliable closer!
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Maybe we can just face LHP the rest of the season?? Ozzie's awful love for Kotsay was getting a lot of play on B&B today. Might as well activate Teahen, promote Sale, DFA Kotsay, and send down Torres. We'd be such a better team. It seems the more fans complain about a player or a situation, the more entrenched Ozzie becomes. It's his way of letting fans know he shouldn't be questioned. Kotsay is the kind of player where the more you play him the less effective he is. He is a solid pinch hitter but that's about it. Yes, he should be designated for assignment when Teahen comes back.
  13. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) I'll gladly take Teahen to get Kotsay out of our lineup. Oh you are so right. Teahen in...Kotsay out...sounds like a good trade off. MT was a disappointment early on but I'm hoping he'll be energized by his return for the pennant race.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) I think you are wrong. Kotsay/Jones is a black hole. they are winning despite the DH, and a formidable DH will make them that much stronger in the playoffs I totally agree...I think the Sox would be well advised to get a bat for the stretch run...perhaps a waiver deal. The Jones/Kotsay experiment has been a disappointment.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) I agree with this. Carlos Gonzalez, arguably the best player in baseball since the second half of last year, can't spell walk and he's doing just fine. As long as he can hit and drive in runs I'm not worried about walks either. Of course being selective enough to get in a good hitters count will only make him more dangerous. But yes...I like "The Tank".
  16. Very cool idea starting this thread...some notable transactions have occured during this period. Of course we all know about Alex Rios.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:52 PM) Please do not trade Dayan Viciedo in the Dunn deal. Why go to all that trouble to find and sign him if you are going to give him up as he shows some incredible life in his bat? Kill this thread if you wish. I just think it needs its own area for Dayan backers to vent. Please, please, keep Dayan Viciedo, Sox management. I'm happy they kept The Tank. I think he's going to be good.
  18. Not thrilled with the idea of getting Jackson...rather have Ted Lilly
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 01:13 AM) I wouldn't believe it from a source like that. Oh, I don't know, Coppock might be a doofas at times but he's pretty well connected around Chicago. I think the Cubs and Sox should always try to deal with each other in hopes of both teams getting better. In this case, Lilly might be a good addition. The WS definitely need another starter...Hudson isn't ready for a prime time pennant race.
  20. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 10:06 PM) Good lord. Omar for player-manager. Ozzie for Spanish-language radio color man. Kudos to OV...finally a candid and thoughtful comment by a guy who knows. I don't buy OG's crap about not needing anyone...he does that to curry favor with the players.
  21. If KW doesn't overpay with prospects, I think it would be a great move. Make him the fifth starter where there is no pressure...plus the Ozzie relationship is well known.
  22. KW always plays it close to the vest, keeping the lid on information that might hurt the process. I'm sure when a trade is announced it will be something surprising. I have complete faith in our GM.
