  1. PS - this topic reminded me of the only Sox pitcher with any balls to throw anywhere but over the plate against the Twins last year. http://whitesox.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=11122573
  2. Lopez is a turd. There is a reason why a guy who can rake (when he wants to) has bounced from team to team for the better part of 5 seasons now. Knowing Joe Maddon, upon the next bulls*** episode from him, he'll be back on the scrapheap from where TB picked him up. Also, It wouldn't surprise me after seeing the reply if Lopez meant to flip the bat (Quentin flips his bat halfway to LF on doubles for cryin out loud) but just not in the direction of the pitcher. Granted, Lopez is highly doucherous, but he did take the Sox "closer" deep after getting some chin music. Good for him. This whole thing is stupid. Like other posters said... just win the damn game tomorrow and send the Rays back to TB at 1-8 and not 2-7.
  3. PS - If Adam Dunn misses only one game after having one of his internal organs removed, does this make him the ultimate legendary Sox grinder, thus supplanting Sir AAAron Rowand?
  4. How is the procedure done? Laser? small incision? Maybe it isn't that big of a deal?? *shrug* EDIT: ok, so it was a small incision... I can see why he wants to be in the lineup for the home opener, but "fer pete's sake" you just had one of your internal organs removed.
  5. I'll take Quentin's OBP over Milledge's empty BA.
  6. I beat MLBTR by 15 minutes. I rule. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/03/rays...-shelby-jr.html

  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) Rios-Dunn-Konerko is my 3-4-5. Agreed. Pierre, Beckham and Rios infront of the mashers. Lots of speed atop the lineup. Same argument can be made for Dunn hitting 3rd, in front of the mashers. More times on base, more RBI chances for guys behind him. Can't go wrong either way. Its crazy that the only question mark is Brent Morel, who should hold his own regardless. Gonna be a fun season.
  9. Thanks a ton for doing this. Pretty cool..... I thought I saw on Leighton's FB that he was going to Kanny, but maybe he was wrong since he missed almost all of last year.
  10. From Ozzie's (obviously ghost written) blog: http://ozzie.mlblogs.com/archives/2011/03/...-right-now.html I'm guessing Morel is the unofficial starting 3B.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Nope, just send me the check. Your sign on is still the same FYI THANKS!
  12. I would like to change my already awesome screen name to something even more awesome. Currently Awesome: Charlie Haeger's Knuckles Even More Awesome: Anderson Cooper's Quivering Lip Is there a PDF form somewhere I need to complete, sign, notarize and return?
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 13, 2011 -> 12:56 AM) Can't blame Ozzie SAYING it after offensive clinic Teahen is putting up so far. Doesn't mean it will happen. On the other hand, if Teahen is handed the starting third baseman role, does Morel make the team? I would guess Lillibridge AND Milledge make the team in that scenario and Morel goes to AAA (until the second week of the season when Teahen has 5 game-costing errors).
  14. It was "reported" by a few outlets today that Edwin Jackson would be the first Sox starter this spring to have the "everyday lineup" behind him. Guess who was at 3B? Ugh.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 12, 2011 -> 06:36 PM) WTF, no discussion of Zuffa/UFC buying Strikeforce? http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/mma/news/story?id=6209923 Good. Now Fedor and Couture can finally fight.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Brent Morel has hit much better than Brian Anderson did in the minors and has a much better work ethic. I can eat an orange, and it may remind me of an apple, but it's still an orange. Each stop in Morel's monir league career, he scuffled upon arrival in his first 50 ABs or so, then tore it up thereafter. Even if he isn't hitting for a high average, he'll do things to help the team with his bat. We've already seen a few instances in ST of his ABs ending with productive outs.
  17. Holy crap... Carlos Quentin is smiling in his mlb.com mugshot.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 12, 2011 -> 10:05 AM) I remember when Terrero had big time power. I remember when he got caught with the hidden ball trick, at 3rd base.
  19. Stupid question, but what about Gartrell? He is playing (well, hitting at least) quite well this ST. 4th OF? Or native-English-speaking version of Luis Terrero?
  20. Sergio Santos. Why? Because he has f***ing sweet sleeve tattoos. That means he has a high pain tolerance and is prime fit for the ninth inning.
  21. Judging by pfx data in gameday, Cofield's fastball has a TON of movement.
  22. When did the Sox sign Michael Restovich? He's still hanging on, eh? At least we have one more ex-Twin somewhere "in the organization"
  23. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 7, 2011 -> 11:18 AM) Sweet. I'm glad Viciedo is in RF for the game we can see. That lineup lists two RFers. I wonder if Gartrell is in left?
  24. first inning: 8 pitches, 4 strikes, 4 balls. 1K, 1BB and a double play.
