  1. my favorite part was the empty bulleted list with a border-radius and box-shadow on it for literally no reason
  2. I posted this in another thread a couple of days ago, but if you look at what the Sox and Hahn have pulled off this off-season, they've added ~15 WAR and gave up Steele Walker in the process. I really doubt that the FO is gonna trade a B+ prospect for a short term fix for the bullpen, unless they've really soured on him. Stone eluded to it in a tweet, "you work with your best asset, which is knowing your prospects better than anyone else" ... whatever his tweet was exactly, he was hinting that the Sox might trade a prospect for a reliever, and it's because they don't have that guy's name on KW's big white board. How many recent trades for relievers netted the other team something substantial? (this isn't a rhetorical question) Looking through some trade history on the BA trade tracker, not a lot of teams trading relievers got much back other than some salary relief, slot money, or flyer prospects. Only the big names and closer-types drew real returns. 30 days ago, I'd be thinking differently, but I trust RickyGM.
  3. Think about it. Rick Hahn added ~15 war this offseason and gave up Steele Walker.
  4. Ya I think the most likely scenario is Adam Engel and Leury opening day. Which is perfectly fine.
  5. A lot of people assumed it was the only move they’d make and would instead settle for brining back Nova etc
  6. I’ll take a bunch of 3 WAR guys spread over 255m as opposed to a single 6 WAR guy. thanks Sox FO for knowing better than this meat head fan.
  7. Hector is the kiss of death. This deal is now jinx’d
  8. Wait there’s nice guys who are easy to root for on this team? According to Sox twitter I’m supposed to hate them.
  9. He also would need to waive his no-trade clause to come here.
  10. Heywood Jablome, a 29 year old career minor leaguer with a 5.40 era in AAA. But he can eat innings and provide depth!
  11. I remember back in the 05 offseason how excited I was when the Sox signed El Duque to be the fifth starter. How things have changed. I’m conflicted with this one. Gio still has some gas left in the tank but... is this really the best they could do? i don’t know what the trade market looks like because most of that hasn’t really been leaked by reporters but I’d wager that this really is the best they could do. I doubt they want to trade guys teams ask for when/ if they go after “young cost controlled” guys.. and we all know the big ticket guys aren’t signing here. so ya, this is probably the best they could do. I’m just hoping it isn’t Ervin Santana all over again.
  12. It probably di happen yesterday but wasn't reported until today because no one cares about the white sox anymore /soxtwitter
